Yeah, Compu2000 only carries the keyboard guard, and none of the MacStation have any of the Moshi products I want in stock. Not worth going all the way to Richmond for just the keyboard protector IMO.

I will try Simply though. BCIT location is close to my house, and their Vancouver location is close to work

Try some of those small shops at Crystal Mall that sell stuff in small cubes. I distinctly remember seeing one of them carry the moshi wrist guard. Compu2000 definitely has it - I've seen it there before.

Went to Simply BCIT today, but it was closed... FUUUUU

Will just go to Compu2000 tomorrow after work.

For those that want the same color profile on Windows boot camp as they do on OS X, check out this link - HOWTO: Make Windows 7 use a good Mac color profile - Neowin Forums

Got rid of that nasty blue tint.

Another good extension is BootChamp - kainjow

It's basically the Windows BootCamp system tray icon but for Mac. Easy toggling when you need to switch between the two OSes instead of having to manually go into system prefs.

^ All you need to do is hold the alt/option key before the apple boot chime and after a few seconds you'll have icons asking which OS you want to boot into if you have used Bootcamp. Use the arrows or mouse to select and press enter!

My Mac is default to Mac OSX from the system preference panel....so when I need to go into Windows I'll hold the alt/option key at boot.

Yup, but BootChamp saves you time. Why restart your computer and hold the button when you can just click the menu bar icon?

All of a sudden on my MBP 13" all my pictures went to read only. Most saved on to my mac. I can't changed all of them at all. Any way how?

Double-check your photos if they are locked under properties.

Was looking for a way to make Finder display folders first prior to files like Windows does. Stumbled upon this - TotalFinder brings tabs to your native Finder and more!

Best features are the tabbed browsing instead of multiple Finder folders, and the folders first.

To save valuable toolbar space and memory resources on something that isn't used as much as looking up to read the time. I run in Mac OSX 99.9% of the time anyways and it barely needs restarts even in my graphic design and post video production profession. I haven't rebooted in close to a month so far...LOL

hey guys getting a new laptop for work.sorry this must have been asked a million times before but i just want to get the best bang for my buck.

dont know if i should get the air or pro. going to be the 13" base models.

theres tons of articles out there comparing the two. i dont need to have the lightness of the air. i just want a solid and reliable machine. will be using it on a day to day basis as a daily driver at home and will be batch editing photos 400-1000 at a time in lightroom/photoshop? and data entry and stuff at work.

thanks in advance guys.

The Macbook air has a higher resolution screen which is useful. Not sure if the Macbook pro 13 screen has a higher gamut or not.

If mobility is not an issue, I would get the MBP 13. Brigher screen, and higher color accuracy stock. You do lose 10% of the workspace (lower res).

If you dont use the superdrive, you can swap it out for a secondary hdd (use it for backup, and switch the primary drive to a SSD). You can also upgrade the memory to 16gb easily for under $100 with a screw driver in 5 minutes.

Looking at a 13" MacBook Air. Lowest model I'm looking at is the i5/4GB/256SSD, and highest would be i7/8GB/256SSD. So there's 4 combinations. The middle two have only a $20 difference, but one has an upgraded processor while the other has the upgraded RAM. Which is a better upgrade in terms of the two? Is an i7 going to be faster with 4GB ram or the i5 with 8GB? Upgrade both? I've read some things online between the different models, but I'd like your guys opinion. I do plan on keeping this laptop for a long time since ill still be using and upgrading my desktop at home from time to time. Thanks.

upgrade ram to 8gig = $40
Upgrade processor = impossible

get the i7 imo

edit: oh wait, MB air ... I'd still go with the i7 over the extra 4 gigs of ram. I run a lot of applications on my i7 MBP and I'm yet to ever touch 4 gigs of ram usage. Plus you got an SSD which means if it has to temporarily store stuff on the HD it'll be available pretty quick.

Good enough to dual boot, but might be pushing it if you plan on running parallels
