More and more of these review videos.. I'm sold... i want one. |
I really want to go test drive one. |
I had been following this thread But so far, there isn't any negative review ? Best Car ever for it price ?? |
Apparently if you want a true sports car then the FRS is a good choice. If you want a bit more luxury but a less sports car like experience then get a Genesis Coupe. There's also the V6 Mustang but that doesn't appeal to me at all. |
Can't wait for the later years of the brz/frs im assuming they are gonna come out with a turbo model eventually |
I heard today a friend of mine took a testdrive in one at open road scion in richmond. He did, however, already put a deposit down for the car... rich |
I can bet my ass.. that they will not come up with a turbo one. EVER. WRX sti engine swap... ;) |
didn't feel like browsing thru the thread (at work anyways) lol, how much is the deposit? to test drive it's $500 deposit right? thks |
http://www.tune86.com/sites/default/...engine_bay.jpg http://jonsibal.com/2012/greddyFRS3.jpg This is the setup for Greddy Scion FRS drift car. Perhaps the EJ intake manifold will bolt up? Either way it's making 600HP boosted and drifting in competition as we speak...Or perhaps what they are using is indeed a EJ25 with mods... here's the production car engine bay: notice the location of the alternator: http://www.rallyxd.com/rallyxd/wp-co...ru-engine1.jpg and for comparison's sake here is the EJ in its natural habitat: http://image.modified.com/f/15600233...preza_ej25.jpg Engine is still hanging low and far back like the production car so I would imagine space is not a true concern...I would imagine Greddy and HKS will be the first of the companies that put together staged turbo kits for this car...It isn't outrageous to put together GDI turbo with a high compression motor these days BMW has been doing that for a while now. |
From my understanding the Greddy Scion FRS car is a completely different engine. rich |
ya but it's still a flat 4 mounted in a similar position as the stock 4U-GE / FA20. It showcases how the engine bay is accommodating enough to fit a turbocharger and corresponding duct work in it. The rest is just a matter of companies investing into doing it for production vehicles, with enough testing and tuning it sounds like a real possibility. The other troll way Toyota might go at it in a couple of years is to add a hybrid boosting setup perhaps located around the rear axle to get extra boost in bhp and mpg...But that's so troll. |
im curious to see how much more they can squeeze out of it in NA form. 2.0 spinning to 10k with around 240hp Atlantic 4age style. ditch all the drive by wire tcs shit, rig up real throttle cables and throw a set of itb in there for the sound and response. one can dream. |
It's making 200 with just a 8000 red I would imagine a 9000red with reworked head / cams will be 240ish? Somewhat like the S2000 were capable of 10 years ago? |

^^^^ :sweetjesus: |
I think the FR-S that OpenRoad was driving around town is now in the Jim Pattison Group's hands. Our GM brought the car into our shop to throw JP Scion plate frames on it. Quite a looker in person, but that stock wheel fitment....:heckno:. |
Kinda want. But interior is so lacking in the FR-S :( Need to see the BRZ in person. |
|
I love it how they park it beside a go cart to make it look big. |
