I just got the update pushed to me sometime tonight (not sure exactly when). I've been doing manual checks all day long yesterday already ;)

mk1freak 06-01-2011 10:24 AM

whats a good site like applanet to use nowadays (at least until applanet is back up )

i'm finding the keyboard docka little more laggy after the update, maybe they'll send an update for the dock shortly afterwards...

A word of advice on ipmart: I've been them since my symbian days, lately their ads have been spewing out viruses - so make sure you protect yourself

Mobilism is alright, very tidy and organized but the releases lag behind (ie: something will take a week after it's been on IP mart before I see it on Mobilism)

I know it's a PITA compared to applanet when it comes to installing. To work around this I just download everything to dropbox!

If you don't already have dropbox... sign up here using my reference link! It'll give us each an extra 250mb! http://db.tt/8fqKg3t

I picked up a 16GB from Staples a week ago and got the dock from MemEx, so far I've been impressed with it, There are a decent amount of apps in the market but they need to start optimizing some of the more popular ones for the honeycomb and utilize the screen. Got the update the day after a bought it last week so I can't really say how it was as most of my experience with the tab is on 3.1, one thing i really don't like is how short that USB power cord is ...

Has anyone looked into a screen protector for these or is it not necessary (how does a protector affect touchscreens)

That's looks really sweet, does the skin affect the docking to the keyboard or is it a non issue ...

protector doesnt affect the touchscreen IME

and it's a non-issue when docking.

That tab has gorilla glass on it... if you don't drop it on a sharp object screen down or store it with sharp stuff you shouldn't need a screen protector..

Anyone know if memory express or ncix or staples or any other local store has the transformer with the dock on display?
Id like to see how the keyboard keeps up with my typing before I buy

Not 100% sure, but I returned my dock at the Bridgeport Staples in Richmond and I overheard the staff talking about whether or not to use the dock as a display.

for the people that bought the keyboard...

What do you think of it? What do you use it for? Should I just skip it and save money?

CP.AR 07-29-2011 09:23 AM

^ I have the keyboard.

adds so much more functionality to it. I brought my laptop and my transfer back to HK during my trip - I barely touched my laptop. All the stuff I need to do could be done using the transformer... including typing lengthy emails

What do you use the keyboard most for? The only thing I can think of is emails since you can't do any word processing on there

CP.AR 07-29-2011 05:06 PM

^ i do excel, word, and of course (documents to go HD)
post on RS

Levitron 07-29-2011 07:36 PM

Yeah, for what it's worth, the keyboard is a great attachment (plus it gives additional battery life).

Not much of a use for me though since I don't word process on the go that much (if I do, I have my laptop).

oh cool, I didn't know that app was available. Looks like I'll be picking one up soon then.

CP.AR 08-03-2011 10:51 AM

yeah 10+ hours of battery is awesome

I was on the plane to HK, had it on pretty much the entire time doing my documents, watching movies and listening to music... I got off the plane with around 20% left lol

604nguyen 08-06-2011 11:14 PM

just picked up my transformer yesterday from ncix, i was torn between this and the iconia.
overall im pretty impressed with the tablet,

But is it just me, or do none of the gameloft games work on this tablet?!
