I just picked one up today instead of getting a galaxy tab.

Does anyone have any suggestions for cases?

I'm trying to find a folio case but not in leather. Is there any that exist? I've tried looking on ebay but most of the ones I've found are leather.

Why did you have to say that! I googled: quad core, ice cream sandwich, thinner, lighter, for the same price, available in Q4.

Now I must wait a few months till this comes out.

I'm so tempted to get the transformer but cash is tight right now and the transformer 2 is coming out... I don't know what to do!!!

Buy now and basically get the keyboard for free? or Buy later and get a potentially better unit?

I say potentially because the software still might not be able to utilize the hardware.

I just went to Memory Express to check it out and they have one with the dock on display.

The dock is AMAZING. It pretty much performs like a laptop/netbook since you can do word processing and powerpoint. I ended up picking up an open box one (all they had left). Came out to be $530ish.

I now have 7 days to test it out to make sure I like it. I'll make sure I do a nice review on it for you guys.

because laptops at that pricepoint suck and a tablet serves a different purpose.

laptop won't give me 16 hours of usage on a single charge.
laptop isnt as portable.
start up time is slower.
etc.

1. Cause I cannot separate the laptop and carry around just the screen as a tablet.
2. Cause the laptop will not have a touch screen.

Yet most of us want these for couch surfing, in which case a cheap laptop is a far better choice, especially for those of us that post on forums a lot.

The 32GB for $379 is a nice price! I'm going to have to return my 16GB and grab the 32GB with a price match.

I ended up getting the ASUS folio case. It isn't too bad but the quality isn't that good. I wish there were a lot more accessories for this.

Yeah I saw that case. It was shit and it wouldn't fit properly with the dock.

On a side note... playing SNES and GBA games on the transformer is pretty cool!


What kind of apps are you guys running on it? I find that a lot of mainstream apps aren't available (Facebook, Mint.com)

yeah i'm playing some old school street fighter turbo with the ps3 contorller lol. Even some ps1 games work pretty good. For facebook i use an app call "friend me". There is a no ads version. I'm sure you can find it =)

Returned the 16GB and got the 32GB for roughly the same price that I got that 16GB which was $375 lol.

Since I was returning the original 16GB (I got the protection plan aswell) they really didn't want to lose the sale to memory express. I explained to them that it would probably go back down in price.
