from the looks of it, i'd say he was trying to be the valiant one and stop them from pushing the van over. i mean come on. first of all who would be moronic enough (the rioters would, but not an anti-rioter) to be the ONE person on the other side of the van if they were trying to push it over. there must've been at least 10 people on the other side. if he was trying to push it over he would've been at the front or the rear, or the side where everybody was. not alone on one side.

and you can clearly see from the way he's moving that he isn't putting force into pushing the truck OVER, he is putting force into holding it still. and look at 0:47. he waves people over. to help push the truck over? i don't think that'd be necessary. his intentions seem clear to me

not the smartest thing to be doing, but goes in line with everything else he was doing - brave and full of class. the guy has my utmost respect

edit// confirmed after i kept watching. he wasn't trying to push the truck over. look at what he does after the truck goes over (@ 1:13 mark). doesn't cheer. grabs his shoe, puts it on, and tries to tell the people cheering to stfu

Yah, agree! From the video, he's the only one who's trying to oppose the rocking momentum of the van! Even right before it tips, he's using all his strength to prevent it from tipping, but not strong enough :(

someone on another board said there were police-issue gear and weapons in the trunks of both police cars that were stolen when the vehicles were ransacked... any truth to that?

seems like he is trying to stop them from tipping it over trying to get other people to help. knows they are trying to tip it towards him. its great that he is sticking up for his city but honestly in this kind of crowd its pretty insane to do so.
