I must say that I feel A LITTLE bad for her for the amount of shaming she's brought onto herself and her family/friends. Who knew a couple pairs of jeans could ruin someone's life like this... I'm not sure how she's going to cope with this (changing her name, moving, etc etc), but this will stay with her for a LONG, LONG time.
The only negative that will come out of this is for those other morons that looted and destroyed our city but weren't caught, to look at this whole thing as a big joke and feel that they are invincible. Those are the ones that will keep being the shit stains of society and will eventually do stupid shit again when the opportunities arise.
I hope that the VPD will continue to track down, arrest, and charge as many of these idiots as they can, so that people out there will know that there are consequences to their actions and will think twice before "losing it in the moment" again.

Not saying it's right... but this is the backlash you're going to see after the way our "justice system" has slacked off over the years. People are sick of seeing the guilty walk away and now they have a chance to actually do something about it themselves, they're going to push it to the limit.

^^very true
I think that has a very big part of why eveyrone is going to extremes to bring people to justice. For far too long people have gotten away with a slap on the wrist

If they didn't think of the consequences of their actions then they shouldn't have acted. What did they expect? No one would find out in our age of technology where everyone has a phone that is equipped with a camera?
Please, don't insult my intelligence saying something came over you and you just had to do it. No one simply relies on mob mentality. A part of you must have wanted to do it to begin with and you were just dumb to do it and get caught. I don't wish any harm to be done to you or your friends/family but I could careless how humiliated you are.
Verdict? Go fuck yourself. I have no pity or sympathy for you.

Was interesting listening to the manager of the London Drugs on the Bill Good Show today (look it up in the CKNW Audio Vault, well worth the listen). He stated right off the top, he was most concerned for the little family stores, as they were the ones most hurt by this, and despite the losses, the big stores like his would be far better equipped to survive the damage and losses.
I tried to get through (couldn't; line was busy) because I wanted to ask his opinion of my idea: that those caught should be forced to work for the stores that have been harmed... not just to repay their "debt", but so they would get to actually know they people they'd hurt with their actions, and maybe give at least some of them something to think about should they be tempted to do something like this again.
From listening to him, though... I think he would have been right on board with that concept. He and Bill both agreed, some of the people they sue simply won't have the means to repay... and you know some others will simply use Daddy's checkbook.

No sense in suffering at the hands of their actions any further.

That's why they're forced to work for free... and the terms of their "sentence" is based on evaluations/progress reports from managers in conjunction with, say, a "parole officer" type liaison. Work hard, do a good job... finish your "sentence" sooner. Slack off, be a prick... keep working until you get the message.

i got a good kick out of it | I'm going to make a shirt that says I'm a snitch or something. Tired of this stupid quasi-gangster attitude kids that listen to too much rap have these days that somehow helping law enforcement catch those who have wronged you is dishonorable. Quote:

I hope more punks read this. Y'know what...I wasn't going to because I felt like the public shaming may have gone too far but I'm going to post all the rest of the pictures I mailed to VPD here tomorrow...y'know, just in case some punk ass kid wants to make himself known around here.

Fuck that shit, they waived their right to avoid being found the second they looted that store or lit that car on fire.
David Eby needs to stop trying to play whistleblower every time something rights related comes up. It's getting annoying seeing his pock-marked face on the news when something trivial over rights comes up.

^I agree with him. Lynch mobs are not good. We are bypassing that you are innocent unless proven in a court of law.
I mean, I love that these idiots are getting busted. But I'm a staunch believer in protecting our civil rights.
I mean look at that jason li kid. He became a target of RS'ers wrath.
Instead of him having the chance to come out and appologize look at him now, expelled on last day of school, he can't graduate will probably never get a job again. And this was before criminal charges were pressed.
We are breeding worse citizens by putting him in these positions and not giving them the proper chance to rehabilitate.
just my 2 cents.

just read on NEWS1130... so typical of lawyers and (loosely speaking) of out "society". Apparently, firing employees who were caught in the riots COULD constitute a "human rights violation", because the actions of some individuals are out of their normal character.

garbage. | I understand that people are pissed off, but I don't think someone should be fired for an offence if it is unrelated to their job or job performance, ESPECIALLY if they have not even been convicted for said offence.
