Can you upload a screenshot? What's the multitasking tray?

Might jailbreak it for IntelliscreenX. Integrated SBSettings looks amazing on it. SBS is probably the only thing I miss from having a jailbroken phone.

EDIT: Just tried IntelliscreenX. Not worth the $10.

Everything I've found is all tutorials written from last year. Gf is unlocked with ultrasn0w and would like to keep her unlock.

n00b, use sn0wbreeze to preserve the baseband. Then update to 5.0.1 with the custom ISPW. Then jailbreak with redsn0w.

actually, you can do it all in redsn0w now.

iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone Without Updating the Baseband (Windows) [5.0.1]

it was written before the untethered came out today but same idea.

to be honest i never got it to work, pwnage tool on osx has always been the way it worked for me. this is before and after i got my ssd so a subsequent format. who knows. i must be working for most ppl.

Hey do you guys know any good video converting programs for macs? i'm trying to get some .avi movies into my iPhone

ddr 12-27-2011 01:35 PM

to play them on ur phone, use VLC, AVplayer, or goodplayer. no need to convert.

if you want to convert stuff, most ppl use handbrake on osx

i actually use air video server to stream everything even on 3G. it live converts on my PC.

kevin7352 12-27-2011 01:43 PM

i can't really find the VLC player app. i can only find VLC streamer

OriginalJC 12-27-2011 04:11 PM

I use Gplayer. Works better than VLC on my iPhone/iPad

Avplayer works well also

VLC was pulled off the app store shortly after it was up, so if you didn't grab it when it was available, no way to get it now unless you jailbreak

you know when you double-tap the home button to get the multitasking tray up? You can have that in the notification center as well.

Basically the best thing about IntelliscreenX is the "Top-Shelf".

What this does is lets you store widgets like toggle settings in the top-shelf and this can only be seen if you pull down a bit further. This helps prevents the notification center get all messy with so many widgets in it. I wish someone would come out with a tweak just for that because I don't want to pay $10 for intelliscreenx.

It would send as an iMessage before realizing they aren't on iMessage and send as a regular text. It does this for EVERY message. Each message sent takes like 20 seconds to send.

I had this exact same issue with a friend who temporarily put his chip into an IPhone then put it back into his Blackberry. I guess I sent him a text right during that short period he had it in his IPhone and fuck all my messages kept going to his IPhone after that.

I fixed it I think by holding down on the message I sent and it gave me an option to send as a text msg. Then it stopped the IMessages completely. One thing I know doesn't work for sure is to shut off IMessage on either of the phones. Don't even bother with that one.

Hold down where? I'm holding down on a bunch of things but I don't see this option pop up

//edit weird. i didn't do anything dfferent but it not sends to my friend as a regular text by default....o_O

When the blue bubble message shows, it won't say "Delivered" underneath it. (Because your friend isn't on iPhone.) Tap and hold on the actual bubble, as if you're trying to highlight it to copy it. The dialogue that pops up will say "Copy | Send as Text Message"

Check out FlexPlayer in the app store too.

Neither Gplayer nor Flex:Player works on my 2nd gen iPod touch :S.
Works on the iPhone though

Quick reply causes my springboard to continually crash :( Any suggestions for other good quick repliers for SMS? I just need the functionally of being able to tap a message and reply without switching apps. Other than that it feels so good to have my jailbreak stuff back again (5 icon dock + infinifolders + sbsettings)

Weird... you can also use Handbrake to convert files to iOS friendly M4V format. Takes about 25 per vid if you don't mind waiting...

kevin7352 12-28-2011 12:11 PM

Let me try Handbrake

that's solely dependent on your encoding settings (i.e. 2-pass) and your CPU. could be a lot longer or shorter.

How have u no heard of bitesms yet? It's easily the best one. You can tap the volume button then tap the screen for a quick compose anywhere including lock screen.

Anyone else experiencing a glitch after jailbreaking?
I can't seem to mute incoming calls now with the side volume buttons... Instead it just adjusts the ringer volume

I suggest using the latest version of Handbrake and the "high profile" preset. It's a single pass using a constant quality compression that gives 2 pass like quality in half of the time, m4v container, h264 video. Also by default it saves the original untouched AC3 audio and also downmixed Dolby pro logic audio.

I'm running a dual core i5 MacBook with 8gb of ram, transcoding avi files is quick. Ripping DVDs takes a lot longer due to disc read speed, optical media sucks.

Used to use bitesms but it always seems to give me problems. I only use it for the quick reply functionality anyways so I used to prefer Quick Reply :concentrate:
