if any1 has an extra 16gb or 32gb... pm :)

taylor192 09-27-2011 01:12 PM

Prices have seem to come down on CL. You can get a 32GB with a case or dock for $250. Considering the 32GB is $170 with tax, and the dock or cover is $30, the sellers are only making $50.

yess, I was hoping the demand slows down enough (with too much supply out there) so that the costs will be driven down.. SOOON

Looking at CL today, most people are still asking for $250 for a slightly used 32 gigaddy TP and $170 for a slightly molested 16 gigaddy unit. The worst I saw was $340 for a used OC'd 16 gigger. Most guys are claiming firm on their prices.

I got my first one today, can't wait to go home and OC it and then put it on CL for $599. :troll:

OT, yet you can play funny jokes on CL sellers, just ask them to meet you in strange places and don't show. Especially funny if you do it to ticket scalpers only hours before an event.

Soooo.... post it on CL so I can buy it!

DanHibiki 09-27-2011 05:53 PM

And so now that I got what. What do you guys recommend I install/tweak/hack/download on this thing?

There is a TP mod/Hack thread. I think that is a good place to start. I am about to start my TP hack/mod venture.

HP will charge your CC in a couple of days and they will mail out a paper copy of the invoice as well. That is what they did for my touchstone.

While that sounds so mean, it would be funny. I saw you on Oak and King Ed around 5:30 today. I waved at you but I don't think you saw me giving you the middle finger. :suspicious:

J/k about the finger....

Basically apple does the same thing - force you to use their app store, their music store, their everything. Except Apple doesn't have to subsidize the price, since everyone wants one already because of Magic.

The Amazon tablet doesn't have to be a dual core 9.7" IPS tablet either. It can't be shitty, but it doesn't have to cost $300 to make to be able to sell for $100-150.

$249-299 won't work either. Because nobody wants a tablet. Unless it's an ipad (Magic), or unless it's a ridiculous deal.

looks promising. nice interface (pretty much android version of ipod touch with 7" screen)

b0unce. [?] 09-28-2011 01:18 PM

cheapest place to buy screen protectors? invisible shield is over priced, costs nearly as much as the touchpad itself lol

seakrait 09-28-2011 01:40 PM

So I might be able to pick up a 32Gb TP at cost from a friend. I get first dibs so I have to get back to him soon. Still worth it now that the new Kindle is coming out? Will be using mostly as a mobile browser for around the house.

That's a good question. If you get could the 16 Gb for $99 I'd get it just for shits and giggles. For $50 more than a $32 Gb TP you get a device essentially designed to be the perfect couch potato accessory optimized for browsing and media. Plus its smaller/lighter, so easier to handle for longer periods of time.

I want the Harmony remote software when I finally purchase a tablet, so that throws WebOS out the window.

You guys think there's anywhere I can take this story regarding the customer service with HP I've had?

I've recorded over 5 hours of call time over 11 calls and nothing has been provided to me regarding my TP yet other then it should show up soon even from NA CS..

so you're saying that for the cost of a 32gb, it wouldn't be a perfect couch potato accessory to browse the web and watch media? compared to the newer and probably better-supported kindle? i'm tempted that my friend has one available but now that the kindle is out and is newer...

Vansterdam 09-28-2011 06:49 PM

for the price its a killer deal

perfect for web browsing/youtube/watching hd videos +listening to music

angry birds :fullofwin:

snes and n64 rom works i just wished someone would make the ps3 or wii remote compatible

skype

alarm clock with the case stand lol

i would rather get a playbook if the price was cheaper.

easier to tether+better camera and almost half the weight.

shawn79 09-28-2011 07:07 PM

blackberry playbook has bbm too :fullofwin:

I'm saying for $50 more you get a device designed to sit on the couch. The TP is just another tablet, while Amazon looks like they've optimized the Fire specially for the things we'd do on the couch. Plus you get a fully supported device with apps, and the ability to turn your tablet into a remote for your TV.
