I updated my TP to 3.04.2.77 or soemthign last night, toook me about 20-25$.But its just 1 click update over the air. No hiccups or slow down.

My preware still loads fast and fine. Lost alot of the patches like tap ripple, muffle logging, acceleration of cards, and advance reset option.

Also , lost overclocking , so its back to 1.2

Hondaracer 10-19-2011 03:21 PM

how do i install preware though on a version of 3.0.4 that doesnt already have preware on it?

same way you would install preware before, hook it up to computer via usb.

Follow instrusctions on touchpadplus.com I guess.

Got an email from HP, they are officially out of stock. So pretty doubtful now.

Is $180 a fair price for a mint 16gb? All I expect out of the the tp is just to stream online flash movie and surf.

threezero 11-05-2011 12:49 PM

cctw 11-05-2011 12:53 PM

[Comp] HP Touchpad 32 GB $150 for Developers - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

from the looks of it either get someone to send you a coupon code or find a frd that is a developer

limit 2 per person so ppl might spare you a code if they're nice enough

threezero 11-05-2011 02:37 PM

^^ doesn't seem like it would happen. Need company email + IRS tax number for developers account :(

Having second thoughts, maybe i should wait for the kindle fire? just need a cheap tablet that can do flash and read some .cbr file reading.

Having had my 32 gig TP for a month and a half now, and 2 weeks with CM7, a few things I can say.

Get the 32 gig. You will lose 5 gig for WebOS alone, not sure how much memory CM7 takes up.

IMO, $180 is too much to pay for a 16 gig TP but that is just my opinion. I think a $200 netbook with more memory will do what you want but better.

32gb is going to be like close to $300 with all the cl sellers trying to make a profit (or they didn't buy it during the fire sale)

in that case a 32gb play book for the $300 a better deal?

I don't know about now, but people were only asking for $250 for a 32 gig TP on CL a month ago.
If they are asking $300, they really need to give their heads a shake.

Ask yourself this. Do you really need a tablet. If all you are going to do is surf the net and stream movies, why not get a 10 inch net book? I never played with the playbook so I can't comment on it.
What about buying one of those knock off tablets that are running on Android 2.3?

Now that the Playbook actually has some apps, it's an okay deal.

Anyways, it depends what you want to do with it, too. The Playbook is smaller, lighter, and beefier, so it's obviously stronger as a mobile device than the TouchPad. IMO, the TouchPad is better for couch surfing.
