Got a buddy who work for Shaw. If you are affected by down time. This is because they are replacing some node around your area.

:alone: I just live 1 block away

No problem with Shaw.

Ludepower 12-15-2015 09:14 PM

Im sick of Shaw. Maybe because I have basic 15 but that's no excuse why I have buffering issues watching youtube.

Is telus speeds better with their dedicated lines? I wanna make the jump from shaw but I gotta sign a contract to lock in at the low price.

My shaw TV has been down all day. Super annoying considering today was the day I decided to stay in. Apparently it's nationwide issue.

it's basically a contract, for 2 years. if u agree to stay with them for 2 years and keep internet 150, then u only pay $79/month for a 2 year term, then when the 2 year term ends, u move back to regular price of $135. at that point if there is still the 2 year plan offered, u can resign up a new contract and get $79/month again (if they have not raised the price for contracts after ur initial contract). i believe there is also price guarantee so if during anytime within the 2 year period they decide to raise the price of services, u still remain paying $79 only.

v_tec 07-16-2016 02:50 AM

For those of you that's NOT with Shaw, it's actually
- $49.9/month for first year
- $79.9/month for 13-24th month
- 2 year contract

Or those that's already with Shaw...then $79.9/month X 24, 2 years contract.

Its a 2 year contract with the rate of $79.90 guaranteed during that time with no rate increase.

For new customers its $49.90 year 1 then $79.90 year 2.

There are internet only or internet+cable contract. The with +cable also locks in that rate.

After the 2 years, you can sign up again on a new contract at whatever price it is then.

Full disclaimer I'm a shaw employee, however not a phone rep.

Shaw called me up to offer me that 150 package, I'm tempted to get it even though I can't see any use for that speed. I'm a bit wary of contracts though, has anyone read all the fine print that goes with this?

mr_chin 07-23-2016 05:12 PM

What specifics define a "new customer"? Address or name?

If two people live in the same household, for example, roommates, can both get the new customer deal?

underscore 07-23-2016 05:52 PM

Name I believe.

jeedee 07-23-2016 06:03 PM

Shaw adding $3 to my bill again on August 1st :smug:

Currently, my shaw account is under my dad's name. If I want to take advantage of the $49.90, will I get the promotion if I switch it to my name?

Or do I have to cancel first and then sign up using my name? That would be consider a "new" customer right?
