LOL no not skillwise, I meant if you listened to his interviews and when he was on some Taiwan talk show a while back, he preaches religion like every other sentence. So I meant I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls a "Tebowing" position after he gets fouled and sinks the shot

dlo 02-11-2012 12:30 AM

Yeah that's what I meant haha, always praising the lord, first interview I heard and I instantly thought of tebow LOL, nice to see him being super humble though

kid stepped into the perfect situation (team desperate for a pg, cool players coach, freerunning pick n roll system) i mean these are the perfect circumstances for his skillset, and this dude made sure he took full advantage of it, props to him...

and since thread title this the crossover past John Wall for his first ever nba career dunk, from the other day...

xilley 02-11-2012 12:41 AM

Fucking loving this guy right now.

I just hope he doesnt get cocky when he rises up higher. (eg: kobe bryant)

Took the words out of my mouth.

Who is signing? LA Lakers? Boston Celtics? Definitely not the Seattle Sonics.

niu99 02-11-2012 01:47 AM

Lin has high basketball iq. Plays team basketball. Makes plays. But once camello and stoudmire returns, it will be interesting. Lin's numbers wont be as high thats for sure.

Lin hella quick and will continue to shine as long as MELO is out of the line up. Once he is back, watch Jeremy pts decline. Why?

Spoiler!

deal with it

Ronin 02-11-2012 03:15 AM

Happy to say I was wrong. That was one hell of a performance. I haven't watched much basketball since the Grizz left town.

Should've asked Kobe:
.

The NBA hasn't had anything particularly interesting for years til now.

Jeremy Lin crosses over John Wall, dunks on Wizards - YouTube

why does it look like he has jizz hanging off his chin?

G-spec 02-11-2012 08:03 AM

^ @EvoMR.... something about mary moment, jk, it's a bandaid he got cut...

niu yea he knows exactly when to attack, still turning the ball over too much right now for a PG, but gotdang those basketball analysts need to cut him some slack, he's basically played in only a handful of NBA games, he JUST got started....

but that's the beauty of the pick and roll game, it can make people shine if you know your way around it, especially in a system like D'Antoni's...
that pick and roll/pop/attack, it's fckin deadly and it's my favorite part of the game

Not really racist! 02-11-2012 08:04 AM

bandaid, he got cut driving to the net

Q: Did the Lakers talk about him in the locker room?

A: Do we talk about him? Yeah, we talk about him. We think he needs a better haircut. I don’t like that style. You’re in New York, the fashion capital. Change your haircut, OK? You’re a star now. Wear some shades. Shades, OK? Put down the nerdy Harvard book glasses. Put on some black shades, OK? With some leather pants. Change your style. Fashion.

Q: Do you wear leather pants?

A: No, I won’t wear them, but he should wear leather pants. He’s the type of guy who should wear leather pants, some nice shoes and change his fashion. You’re Jeremy Lin, for godsakes. You know what I’m saying? You know? Put down that law book, stop reading the New York Times and start reading the Daily News. Newsday, that’s the one. I like that one because there’s always color in that one. What else? Wall Street Journal. Get some swag. You’re in New York City. Put your hat to the back, too. Put your hat on backwards. Come to practice with your pants sagging and just tell them, 'I don’t feel like practicing.' Practice? You know? Practice? And wear an Iverson jersey. You know? Come to practice with a cigar. Lit. 'I’m Jeremy Lin.' You know? He should change. We're all excited to play tonight. It’s like the first time for everybody. Everybody’s excited. Kobe’s excited. He wants to get 50. He wants to welcome Jeremy Lin to his new level."

Ron Artest is an idiot.. so who cares...

LiquidTurbo 02-11-2012 09:36 AM

Shit, just found out this guy is like Tim Tebow.

This! Lin is legit and pretty good, but he's in the perfect system, played his first few games at home, and the teams he's played are not the top teams either.

Hell the lakers played 5 road games in 7 nights and this was at the end of their road trip. lakers played boston the night before and boston lost to the .. . . raptors.

I notice he's not as effective when he drives left, so teams will stop preventing him from driving right, and force him to make outside shots.
I want him to succeed, but it will be tough since Melo/Amare and Baron gets back. I really hope he doesnt become like Tebow, where it's mostly hype and mockery and you have half the fans hating the guy and half the fans loving him.

jaebomb 02-11-2012 11:45 AM

Wasn't Tebow drafted?

Plus Tebow won more than 4 starts. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I like that he's humble and defers credit to his teammates. Need more personalities like that in the NBA.

Sorry, but Tim Tebow was a very successful QB in College. Heisman Trophy winner. 4 x Bowls Champ.
You can't even compare Tim Tebow to J. Lin with 4 games of NBA exp.

Back to J. Lin :D

pastarocket 02-11-2012 12:24 PM

I'm just hoping coach D'Antoni gives J. Lin decent playing time after Carmelo returns from his groin injury. The guy has basketball IQ, athleticism, and a good head on his shoulders.

Give the guy a chance to play, coach! He's the real deal.

J. Lin, represent!
