Take the headlines and hype with a grain of salt, he's a good player, but he's not the greatest. Laugh along with the memes and pictures and stop hating on a guy who is just doing what he loves. Let the band-wagoners jump on, they'll jump off soon enough.

I think my problem is that band wagoners jump on like he is Rose or tim hardway or sth, tats what made me laugh but meh watever

Do you realize how ridiculous that is....then he drops 30 points on UConn....Enters for draft, nobody even looks at him....plays great against Wall in summer league.....finally the Warriors pick him as what was probably just for marketing purposes....they waive him, Knicks pick him up and he is finally given an opportunity to play....and the rest is history...like I said, it's not about HOW good he is, it's the about the fact that HE IS GOOD but has been turned down his entire life for stupid reasons...It's a great story that encourages people to simply never give up on their dreams...

fair enough

today if he was black this wouldnt happened to him in the first place, now i understand because he was asian people play the stereotype game therefore he wasnt never given the minutes nor opportunity to play, like wall did for example

gotta love HUBIE !!!

and Earl I think Melo would have to be out of his mind if he even dares to think about fucking this up for New York right now...
I have a feeling he's gonna do the opposite, he's gonna struggle finding his place scared to mess it all up knowing how NYK fans are, but after a short while he will figure it out, and Knicks will be seeing a second round playoff exit... Lin will gain that playoff experience and it will be the end of a good season, next year they will aim for conference finals that they will not make, lol

dachinesedude 02-17-2012 11:02 AM

to the haters, read some articles from time to time, the hype isnt because he's suddenly become "all star caliber", its his story and his influence on the sport of basketball

here's a good one:
Lin is transcending race and helping to shatter stereotypes | NBA.com

Quote:

Who wasn't told, at one point, that they weren't good enough? Who hasn't been flat-out rejected, either by a grade-school crush, or a company CEO, or a loan officer? Who hasn't had to scrape themselves off the floor after another failure and come up with a new plan, another way of doing the same job better, in order to make it?

Lin was ignored in high school, wasn't drafted by an NBA team, couldn't stick with two of them, had to beat the bush leagues and then slept on a sofa because he wasn't sure the Knicks would keep him. Then he caught fire overnight. The first time he scored 38 points in a basketball game in his life, it came against Kobe Bryant. Because nothing was ever expected of him, and no fuss was ever raised over him until a week ago, he isn't spoiled by nature. He's humble and free of the jersey-tugging, preening, gesturing, chest-thumping culture that has polluted sports and soured it for many. That's all part of the legend and the lore by now, and that's why he's getting lots of underdog love.

But it also ignores the one thing we all notice but aren't quite sure how to handle, or even if we should handle at all. It's the one thing some of us don't or can't relate to.

Yes, the race thing.
Like mayweather said, if a black player did the same thing he wouldnt be as hyped, but a black player wouldnt be ignored by coaches and scouters in the first place

8 turnovers against the hornets tonight... in the first half only! LOL

TheKingdom2000 02-17-2012 06:06 PM

yeah, his turn overs are ridic.
He can't penetrate the D. The knicks look like sacramento the night before.

Acceleration on par with John Wall.
Spin speed almost on par with Derrick Rose.
Release quicker than Jesus.

Asian Junkie – Jenny Hyun, songwriter for SNSD & Chocolat, is a racist psychopath

Quote:

Jenny Hyun, who is a songwriter for SNSD & Chocolat and is an artist herself, recently went on a racist rampage, outing herself as a bigot and mentally unstable as well.

While the title is harsh, I assure you she deserves every bit of it after her Twitter rant laden with racism towards black people.
