Casino = less traffic when exiting

Beware though, I was told by the flaggers that RR monitors the parkade.

Defintely not Casino, they will observe the parking lot. People said park at Costco, its about 5~10 minute walk so it is not bad. Otherwise, you can park at lansdowne the Skytrain. Park near No9 Restaurant as it is open 24/7 thus, the lansdowne patrol won't suspect much

skyxx 05-26-2012 04:48 PM

Park at Casino. Walk into Casino. Do a stroll around then come back out lol?

Last time I went there was a Casino Security Guard posted at one of the Staircase Exits.

And there's a bunch of traffic at coming out of the Casino Parking lot, you have to merge onto River Road where everybodys squeezing to get into the Night Market.

I parked a little down the street where River Road turns into River Drive, and walked there. A little longer walk but a whole lot faster.

yray 05-26-2012 06:37 PM

no one here is willing to pay $2.50 to park at parknride

great casino gaming is fucking pissed off at the traffic arrangement. They had execs on the corner of the road on the first day taking down notes, some even went and directed traffic. :lawl:

There's an sign at the Park n Ride which says something about no "night market parking"

I don't exactly know why. Maybe if everybody parks there, there no RR parking for their customers?

At the same time, how to they track all the different people who park there? I park my car there every Monday to Friday morning and jump on the skytrain, and come back around 630 pm..

registrar 05-26-2012 07:25 PM

Where do you guys park your cars at the New location of RR night market (RiverRock)?

Thx :)

RevYouUp 05-26-2012 07:28 PM

read above dude..

EDawg 05-26-2012 07:52 PM

not a big fan of their gravel lot...

Verdasco 05-26-2012 09:06 PM

not a fan of walking through the gravel to get into the casino parking  big rocks = no no

i laughed at the idiots waiting for half an hour to park at the gravel lot when they can just go into casino parking. There is no way to get caught unless someone sees you not going into the casino.

I think they don't give a fuck as long as you pay, after all the spot is yours for 24 hours. You can do whatever you want during that time with your body LOL.

I saw some guy there checking with a palm computer, saw a ticket once too.

I visited the Richmond Night Market on Friday night and overall, I wasn't terribly impressed. The merchandise stands are a joke and I couldn't believe the line-up for that Rotato stand. Sure, there were a lot of food stands, but none of them seemed to offer anything that exciting. I had some Takoyaki that was all batter and of course some bubble tea whose powder wasn't fully dissolved. The dim sum I had was of course mediocre.

There were a couple of solo performers (Caucasian) who played to an audience of no one. I felt pretty sorry for them and I'm sure they could do better busking on Granville Street.

In hindsight, the hype around night markets died shortly after 9/11 when merchants stopped selling fake designer goods.

Grandmaster TSE 05-27-2012 12:13 AM

its not the vendors fault for not selling fake designer goods anymore

there is a strict regulation on goods sold from the designers themselves to get rid of knockoffs in all markets, so vendors are limited overall of what they can or can not sell

Yes, I was quite underwhelmed by the RR location. The only thing I wanted out of the night was the giant turkey leg, but he wasn't at that location!

HondaGuy 05-27-2012 12:19 AM

Finally got the chance to check out the river rock RNM sponsored by fido friday night. Across the river rock casino parking tower is a gravel lot ( next to commercial shops) that are free but huge potholes where I saw a b-class MB kept hItting all bumps and lumps lol... All you hear is thump thump boom... Poor underbody. Then theres the official parking lot next to night market, paved and smooth roads but you'll need to get through the traffic workers which takes longer. Staff at admission said its free parking but dont forget $1 admission fee.

Bigger venue so more room to walk around, long lineups for hurricane potatoes couldnt believe how ppl kept in order, lotsa shops selling phone case accessories, girl makeups, and dvds.
Had a nice stage for music singers, lotsa different food varieties, and too many lbs and lgs running
around.

Ended up staying less than an hour and bought a phone case for my dad.

I know many ppl say to park at river rock tower but I saw many casino workers checking out cars and
few management types lurking over to market for food hahah...

HonestTea 05-27-2012 12:38 AM

Went to the Richmond Nightmarket @ RR, way over hyped, took forever to get from Cambie & Bridgeport to Costco. Food was pretty bad...Takoyaki, all batter. Bubble tea, ran out of bubbles and the drink had powder that wasn't dissolved yet, skewers were bland and bubble waffles were soggy and clumped together..

Probably not worth it, might head to Bridgeport location though, seems like they have the same stalls(at least I think they do?) and less line up! AFAIK food was better there last year :)

Saw a older model C-class blocking the middle lane cause it ran out of gas and one of his friends bought a Jerry can over and tried to fill the car up, more than half of the gas spilled all over the ground.. So much fail.. LOL

Araaadi 05-27-2012 12:45 AM

I was walking around bridgeport location with a XL turkey leg in one hand, and the corn on the cob in the other hand. Best $11 combo. Also had a plate of butter chicken which was pretty good. I went to the RR location last week and won't return because of the dirty gravel parking which made my car very dirty and scrape a lot.

Ikkaku 05-27-2012 01:00 AM

kettle corn ftw but their prices went up and their sizes went down :(

Verdasco 05-27-2012 01:04 AM

for food, bridgeport > Riverrock location. Would not go back to river rock tbh..... even though there are more LGs.... fuck wish they only had one so i can see my old friends in just one location instead of one or the other...

AzNightmare 05-27-2012 01:12 AM

Went today. Traffic was hectic around there. But I found free parking in the lot cause I was lucky.

The place is way too packed though in the food area. It was so bad, I felt like I was on the Canada Line during peak hours.
It's worst than the Bridgeport one. The other stands were more or less the same as what they offer in Bridgeport.
So you just have more of the same stuff.

The only thing I liked was how the fake shark fin soup was a bit cheaper at $5...
But not really a big deal. I won't be going back to the RR one again though, just because of how busy it is.

TRDood 05-27-2012 02:00 AM

Went to the RR one tonight again for the Rotato. Not impressed.

Last year it was $3 for 1 or $5 for 2. Last year they also used golden potatoes and hand carved it on a stick.

The Rotato is a joke. DYI drill that cuts the potatoes. Cheap brown skinned potatoes that cost 10 cents a piece. Sold at $4 each. Super long line (but moved fast).

As for parking, RR casino should consider charging $40 for parking entry like Edgewater. The casino can then exchange the parking fee as playing chips. That will drive away all the parking cheaters. I also hate the line up and gravel lot. Tonight I went to the RR customer parkade, went into the casino to take a piss, exit then walk over to the night market. :fuckyea:

thegentleman 05-27-2012 02:29 AM

Does anyone monitor NCIX, BK or Italian Tomato parking lots? Then just walk to avoid the bottleneck effect of cars exiting around closing time.

No stand at the RR location carried a screen protector for my Samsung S2X. :seriously:
