riverrock ones opens this week i believe

I did hear vendors talking about only being @ Birdgeport until the RiverRock location opens.. I'm expecting even more of a downturn for Birdgeport after hearing that..

Never-the-less I'll be loyal to Bridgeport as free-parking is always nice.

everyone is disappointed every year.. especially the fucking prices :okay:

maybe the lgs in mini skirts will pop up if their only way of transportation is skytrain :fullofwin: :ahwow:

The skewers stand right at the front (facing the parking lot) sells 7 skewers for $14, and free pita bread with purchase.

Found 2 stands that sells corn for $3. And spotted more stands selling hurricane potatoes.

+1 evry single year ppl are disappointed and post so. night market has never been that good since...ever...yet every uear i see these comments. regarding lgs there are plenty out right now but the mainlander and taiwanese chicks in general seem to be adamment on wearing the highest heels and shortest skirts. i guess if ur going to walk into a sea of people poking you from left to right with juicy meat skewers and balls, u may as well dress the part :troll:

is it just me or has the takoyaki trend died down? i remember the previous night markets had plenty of stalls selling takoyaki, this year its only 1 stall? n now the new trend seems to be hurricane potatoes where theres like 4 stalls selling them

Verdasco 05-15-2012 05:19 PM

What the... The night market beside River Rock opens on May 18th now requires $1 admission fee??? Lol~

according to Richmond Review - Richmond Night Market returns after a four-year absence

"• Admission: $1; free for children 10 and under and adults 60 and over"

Edit

So its true, they are charging $1 for admission fee

http://www.facebook.com/RichmondNightMarket

Admission $1 but if you are someone who goes a lot

They have 2 type of Zoom Passes, $10 and $20
$10 you get 12 admissions
$20 you get 25 admissions

Passes are transferable.

Purchase @ Pepper Wireless Fido exclusive dealer: Landsdowne Mall, Yohan Centre and Aberdeen Centre.
OR @ Their main office: #3063-8700 McKim Way,

Its Free Parking, well just consider that $1 toward parking fee, while the one at Home Depot Nightmarket costs $5 for parking

i-VTEC 05-16-2012 12:10 PM

Heads up for you guys

:fulloffuck: Pay $1 to go eat somewhere? :fuckthatshit:

skyxx 05-16-2012 01:09 PM

Think of it this way, you go night market with a group of friends ei; let's say 4 people. That's 4 bucks. At bridgeport location, parking is 5 bucks but you don't pay admission. Or technically free if you park far away. Either way, you're paying for stupid fees.

My friends and I will just get to the market at the Bridgeport location early and park on River Road. -save the 5 bucks and use it towards buying stuff or food instead.

i-VTEC 05-16-2012 01:29 PM

I guess Hobo :gtfo:

pastarocket 05-16-2012 01:48 PM

:2finger2: Fuck the stupid fees at the night markets.

pastarocket 05-16-2012 02:03 PM

The zip line at the new night market sounds fun.

Richmond Night Market 2012 | We're Back with a Brand New Location!

i-VTEC 05-16-2012 02:10 PM

It was clever scheme by them

Technically, the parking wasn't free. The admission fee goes toward it. People who go is pretty much paying for other people's parking fee. Doesn't matter if you walked all the way from North Vancouver or Skytrain there. You pay to help other people park. Or even toward to pay for the renting fee of the location to City of Richmond

Thinking about how many people are still going to go since $1 isn't that much, but if they were to collect $1 from X amount of people, they will be making a lot more than what Home Depot Night market make for $5 per parking spot and give admission free.

The night market at river rock is hyped, new, better location with sky train access, advertise as "Free Parking", also the Zoom Pass has advertisement of Fido, they make even more money.

skyxx 05-16-2012 03:23 PM

if these guys are at the Riverrock location then I'm sold.

Can we share the zoom pass among friends? Did they restrict it? lol

I dont see why not as they said zoom pass are transferable. I guess that means you can give it to other people to sell it :)

I'm confused. Are there two locations for the night market now? Or just the one by a Canada line station?

There's two in Richmond, the one by River Rock Casino and the one that's been near Home Depot/Futureshop/Ikea each year. There's also the one in Chinatown.
