^ if the garage gets used regularly at least twice a day it won't matter how sealed it is.

:pokerface::joy:

It actually was made for the Corolla

How's the quality? I think I should get one if it's that cheap but I guess my car must be completely clean before I put it on and can't open doors anymore.

Badhobz becoming Acura 604 it's supposed to be sunny all weekend but he puts the Corolla away:joy::troll:

headhunt3r 10-23-2023 09:44 PM

Fuck it I ordered one too for my e88 parked under a car port for the winter.

You may want to get one that's for outdoor use. You'll want the material to breath over the fall and winter, especially if it rains. Indoor covers are for just that only - indoor. They don't offer the same protections as an outdoor cover.

headhunt3r 10-24-2023 09:20 AM

Canceled. The listing says it's breathable but I guess I won't risk it.

It doesn’t even fit my ratrolla fully as you see the rear splitter hanging out but whatever. 34 bucks yo ! I put it on so I don’t have to de dust 2 it…. Head shot

Thanks to Dukes for recommending this wireless CarPlay unit and also a 20% off coupon so it ended up being only 260 dollars usd.

I had to take apart the whole dash to grab the radio out of it and also the top screen unit. Then I had to find a place to put all the cables and the unit itself, That was also another headache. So overall it took me well over 10 hours to install this bloody thing and get it configured properly.

So now the wife can do wireless CarPlay and usb video. I loaded up some shows and she was watching TVB while I drove hahaha.

asian_XL 01-21-2024 03:07 PM

carplay allows playing video while driving? I never tried carplay before

Badhobz 01-21-2024 03:22 PM

Eruhh not car play per se, this is usb video. But this unit does have an air play functionality that allows you to cast onto the screen (I haven’t gotten that working just yet but I’m sure it’s because I have low iq)

Yeah it’s umaru!

This is the unit. Duke got it on his Corolla and now I got it on my wife’s RX

bcrdukes 01-21-2024 08:07 PM

Nice!

I found this module on Rennlist as they make it for other car manufacturers. What I liked about it was that you could maintain your factory harness and functions without having to hack or splice into anything.

For me, start to finish for the installation was about an hour but as you can see, for more sophisticated vehicles like the RX, it can be a real headache, so pick your poison. :D

The unit works well once you get it all setup and configured, so it does take some persistence and patience. I have only used it for maps functionality and streaming music via Spotify. I'm not one to watch videos or have the need to AirPlay anything so these features were a bust for me. Lastly, the screen on my Corolla is garbage and the resolution is so 1990s, so no point.

I am sure there are other modules out there that may work better or have more features, but for the price and somewhat plus and play installation without breaking your factory installed options, this hit the spot and I am a satisfied customer. :)

Edit: I feel like I did Badhobz a disservice as this installation took him 10 hours. I feel like a bad friend. :lol :okay:

headhunt3r 01-21-2024 09:07 PM

I installed something similar on my UX as it came with just carplay whole I use android. I ordered mine off aliexpress so I had no support and they sent me the wrong harness but it eventually worked out. Wireless AA is great now. Occasionally crashes which sucked but it's not often.

Razor Ramon HG 01-22-2024 12:58 AM

My car doesn't have wireless CarPlay, so I was looking up adapters so I can join the MagSafe crew.

While I was researching, I found out that Motorola makes an adapter (Motorola A1) that can add wireless Android Auto to your existing wired AA setup. You just plug in the dongle and connect to it via Bluetooth.

Dbone 01-22-2024 05:06 AM

A friend of mine did a review on a dongle that does the same as that. He has a Tacoma at the time: https://youtu.be/_zMkE5mpPlk?si=V_Oif83RstFlDT-U

what!? why? you're not responsible for my stupidity:alone:
It took 10 hours cuz i had to disassemble so many of these stinking plastic panels and there was a million 10mm bolts that i had to keep track of.

Plus im super anal about squeaks and rattles so i took the time to wrap each of those plastic tabs in noise isolating felt tape before i reassembled it.

Overall im very happy with it given the price. My wife drove her dad around with it yesterday and she got yelled at cuz hes like WHAT THE FUCK youre already a shitty ass driver, why would you need to be more distracted with TVB playing!?!?!? :awwyeah::awwyeah:

Razor Ramon HG 01-24-2024 02:49 PM

Anyone order wheels from nengun before? Prices are pretty good and cheaper than local. Main concern is with shipping damage.

Filled in the blank button. Drove me nuts

sonick 02-17-2024 09:26 AM

The mismatched font and line weight compared to the stock buttons would bother me more than it being blank lol

Badhobz 02-17-2024 09:33 AM

That’s some OCD shit ! I rather like it. Makes me chuckle looking at it
