Reminds me of during the pandemic where the wife got hand sanitizer all over the plastic interior trim and basically melted that shit on her RX.

red kryptonite 05-18-2025 07:04 AM

Badhobz 05-18-2025 08:24 AM

no, i claimed it under warranty (her car is 2018) and it just snuck in under warranty and they replaced a few plastic pieces hahahah.

Can’t tell if trollface is trolling or not.

trollface 05-18-2025 02:48 PM

I would not troll and potentially fuck up someone's car.

Wasn't my car, but yesterday I changed a headlight on the gf's car. First time working on a Lexus so I youtube'd a video for guidance. Now, in the middle of all this, a freaking bear was spotted across the street from me lol. Immediately went back inside until the coast was clear. Sheesh.

Things I learned:

1. Headlights are mounted horizontally in a Lexus unlike in Hondas
2. The ballast is built into the dust cap (kinda smart design tbh)
3. GF wasn't exaggerating when she said there's bears in the neighbourhood...

Temps started creeping up after the 1st run (car won't go into gear with hood up and I forgot how to bypass the hood switch)

Sounds so good! What exhaust are you running? I need to hear this thing in person someday.
My Megan sounds like ass. It’s way too loud, I can barely hear my intake.
I’m considering the turner exhaust or the valvetronic aka aliexpress. They’re the same price and for a little more the aliexpress comes in full titanium.

Haha ya I caught that, mines much ricer.

JoshuaWong 06-01-2025 04:21 PM

out and about... I'm sure someone will appreciate this. :D https://scontent.fyvr4-1.fna.fbcdn.n...fg&oe=6842B092

Stock exhaust with headers and a catted sec 1. Pretty happy with this setup. All you hear is induction noise. If a Dinan muffler comes up for sale locally, may have to think twice about keeping what I have now. Had euro headers and a magnaflow full exhaust on my previous car and it was so obnoxiously loud and raspy.

Given yesterday's weather in Van (29°C), I bet the seat would have dried off on its own if the car is parked outdoors under the sun LOL~

JDMDreams 06-09-2025 12:17 PM

Did you get a ppi or just trusted the seller?

I didn’t, I just trusted him.
He’s the original owner. First 4 years of ownership all service done by mini Vancouver. No physical records but it’s there if I needed it. Regularly serviced at Leah’s in north van after warranty with receipts. He said Leah is very hands on and knows him and the car really well, feel free to call the shop.

bcrdukes 06-09-2025 05:06 PM

Leah’s is a good shop. You did well.

Like they say, buy the seller.

RabidRat 06-09-2025 05:20 PM

I think I want to buy this Mini from RK when he's done with it...

underscore 06-09-2025 06:14 PM

I swapped the idler pulley on the wifes Rav, now that sound is gone I can hear the water pump making noise :rukidding:

bcrdukes 06-09-2025 07:03 PM

Time for a new water pump and thermostat? Radiator flush? While-You're-At-It stuff too? :lol

Just an update on this "mod."

Got a chance to shake down the Boxster at my home track, CTMP. I ended up using a lot less brake this past weekend, and despite the heat, not much brake dust or smell after my 20 minute runs. No brake fade, no lock ups, nothing. I guess the GT3 brake ducts are helping? I'm still slow compared for the 18 GT cars in my run group, so... yeah. :D
