its the going rate for a stud nearing the end of their ELC who has good regular season stats..... Tavares and Skinner for eg |

I think they are trying to set Hall's contract as the ceiling for their core. Eberle may land something similar, but the 6M will be the most someone can make on that team. Similar to what the Canucks did with the Sedins (barring they don't get Doan). Eberle is in talks with the Oilers, but he probably wants the same coin.Maybe even rightfully so, the kid is a gem. I think Hall will continue getting better and bigger and stronger. Their team finished near last and what improvements have they made? Yakopov and Shultz, but are they going to compete for a playoff spot? Hell some say Flamers got better and they finished just outside 8th. That being said, the Hall/Eberle debate on whose better depends on who you ask. These kids are going to be a hell of a lot more protected with the likes of Eager and Hordi on the team. |
NHL network is currently showing game 5 Hawks vs Canucks from 2009.... |

I think Hall will be worth the money in 2-3 years. Keep in mind his point total from last year despite missing 20 games. His durability due to wreckless play is a concern, but he's go tmore meat to him than RNH. I personally think that the ELC term needs to be longer, something like 5 years would be ideal. With most kids, especially those who do not spend any time in the farm system and go straight from draft to NHL, it takes them 1-2 years to learn the NHL game, year 3 they perform well and then their ELC is over and their club either has to fork up the big money and/or term or face an asset loss with offer sheets. In the past, kids just off their ELC would take a 2-4 year deal at decent coin, before hitting the big money big term contracts as they get close to UFA, which made a lot more sense. For me it's a bit much seeing kids done 2/3 of their ELC and then signing on to big money long term contracts based mainly on what their potential is, and not necessarily what they have earned (think Rick DiPietro). |

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/...41_634x660.jpg Oilers have RHN listed at 175lbs, but seeing him in person, there is no way he's more than 155ish |

-agree with some points that Canucks blogger Ian Esplen makes about the state of the NHL labour dispute. A good article. HockeyBuzz.com - Ian Esplen - JR, Taylor, & Ryp -Props to Jeremy Roenick to voice his displeasure about the lack of progress on negotiation. JR certainly has his heart on his sleeve and shows his passion and love of the game. -good paraphrase by Isplen on what Roenick said in a radio clip about Bettman and Fehr: He is one of the only mainstream people I've seen so far that has basically said, "stop with the dick measuring contest, and get a God dam deal done, or you will both be royally F?*ked. |

The way I see it when you say hall will be "worth" te contract Is his "worth" more than the sedins? No, so he's not worth it as he took basically max market value Teams cant win unless you have value contracts http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...C28AC88A3C.jpg Hate messier but absolutely love this picture, the facial expressions basically sum up each individual in the photo lol |
Lucic's wedding party in the Bahamas this weekend, this should be interesting lol Hurricane warning, maybe the weather gods are Canucks fans :troll: |

God I need the NHL to start soon.. |
6 million does sound like a lot and a lot of the contracts being signed lately sound like a lot too. but the thing to remember is the cap has gone from 39m to 70m since the lock out. 6 million is the new 3.3 million. |
