Might be a stupid question, but does a charging bike test the same as a car (~14V)?

Raid3n 09-29-2015 01:31 PM

most stators are multi-stage, so at idle will be less than at >5000rpm or with highbeams on for example.

Vexor- snapchat is cowani. Hit me up

Strange. Maybe it's that my regular helmet is much quieter + I normally always wear earplugs. Also my bike is disgustingly loud. :nyan:

Europe has voted for Motorcycle ABS to be compulsory from 2016

Quote:

"THE EU have voted in favour of mandatory ABS for new motorcycles over 125cc from 2016.

The vote was a landslide victory for ABS and the ministers and companies who have lobbied for its introduction with 643 in favour, 16 against and 18 abstentions.

The rules must still be approved by the Council of Ministers and the UK could still vote against it, citing the disproportionate costs of implementation.

While members of the EU parliament wanted compulsory ABS on all motorcycles, they backtracked after motorcycles manufacturers and the wider industry highlighted the proportional cost of ABS when fitted to a lower-capacity motorcycle. ABS currently costs between £300-500 which could add up to 25% more to the cost of a typical entry-level 125.

The introduction of mandatory ABS is aimed at cutting motorcycles accidents but our well-being isn't the only consideration; some companies are set to gain financially too. Manufacturers of ABS systems have forecasted huge rises in profits when the new legislation comes in, which is why some ABS manufacturers have been lobbying government and the press for years in the run up to this vote.

Question for you guys stemming from the bullshit that happened on the highway yesterday. When the highway is completely backed up (standstill/parking lot), do you guys go up the shoulder? I saw a lot of motorcycles using the shoulder (personally I have no problem with this, I think it's safer for riders) and some cars getting pissy and trying to pull out in front of them. Just wondering what your guys' thoughts about doing this are.

320icar 10-07-2015 10:09 AM

Is it illegal? Yes. Are you going to piss off other drivers? Yes. Are you risking getting pulled over and ticketed? Yes.

Are you helping alleviate congestion? Yes. Is it safer? Debatable. Is it better for the rider than sitting on a hot bike in the elements? Yes.

Would I do it? No.

DKaz 10-07-2015 10:28 AM

What 320icar said. There's already enough drivers who disrespect our legal presence on the road, without giving them a reason to see us as punks who flaunt the law. The potential confrontation with road ragers is not worth it.

Example, most cyclists do follow proper road rules but most drivers see cyclists as stop light running punks who can't make up their mind if they're road users or pedestrians.

radioman 10-07-2015 10:29 AM

I have done it once in extreme gridlock before. Honestly going 10kmph on the shoulder isn't dangerous and I could care less if drivers think I'm a tool.

Given the situation I think people would understand.

Inaii 10-07-2015 10:33 AM

Just to clarify all the bikes I saw doing it were very courteous and respectful. They didn't rip up the side, they were slow and careful (mostly for their own benefit I would guess). And the only cars I saw actively trying to block them were the ones who had tried to drive up the shoulder and had the big trucks/pick ups block them.

So annoying when people try to block you its so easy to go around on the other side that there is no point in them even trying to block you

If there were weather conditions coming like lightning, hail, etc. or extreme heat or cold, I'd probably chance it and slowly head down the shoulder.

I walked my scooter on the sidewalk last winter when McBride Blvd was at a standstill. It was cold and my 2 stroke was running low on fuel and oil anyway so I walked it to a gas station.

320icar 10-08-2015 11:22 AM

I did that with my ruckus once too

vexor 10-08-2015 01:18 PM

Any of you guys still insured? Or when does it run our for this season?

I'm out on the 27th

Raid3n 10-08-2015 03:28 PM
