Might be a stupid question, but does a charging bike test the same as a car (~14V)? |
most stators are multi-stage, so at idle will be less than at >5000rpm or with highbeams on for example. |

Motorcycle ABS compulsory from 2016 - Motorcycle news : General news - Visordown |
Question for you guys stemming from the bullshit that happened on the highway yesterday. When the highway is completely backed up (standstill/parking lot), do you guys go up the shoulder? I saw a lot of motorcycles using the shoulder (personally I have no problem with this, I think it's safer for riders) and some cars getting pissy and trying to pull out in front of them. Just wondering what your guys' thoughts about doing this are. |
Is it illegal? Yes. Are you going to piss off other drivers? Yes. Are you risking getting pulled over and ticketed? Yes. Are you helping alleviate congestion? Yes. Is it safer? Debatable. Is it better for the rider than sitting on a hot bike in the elements? Yes. Would I do it? No. |
What 320icar said. There's already enough drivers who disrespect our legal presence on the road, without giving them a reason to see us as punks who flaunt the law. The potential confrontation with road ragers is not worth it. Example, most cyclists do follow proper road rules but most drivers see cyclists as stop light running punks who can't make up their mind if they're road users or pedestrians. |
I have done it once in extreme gridlock before. Honestly going 10kmph on the shoulder isn't dangerous and I could care less if drivers think I'm a tool. Given the situation I think people would understand. |
Just to clarify all the bikes I saw doing it were very courteous and respectful. They didn't rip up the side, they were slow and careful (mostly for their own benefit I would guess). And the only cars I saw actively trying to block them were the ones who had tried to drive up the shoulder and had the big trucks/pick ups block them. |

If there were weather conditions coming like lightning, hail, etc. or extreme heat or cold, I'd probably chance it and slowly head down the shoulder. I walked my scooter on the sidewalk last winter when McBride Blvd was at a standstill. It was cold and my 2 stroke was running low on fuel and oil anyway so I walked it to a gas station. |
I did that with my ruckus once too |
Any of you guys still insured? Or when does it run our for this season? I'm out on the 27th |
mine would have been through to march i think, but i canceled my plate in favour of the car |
