My ninja 250r was 35 bucks with icbc
And now gixxer 600 is 65 bucks
It's just about double.
I have max discount

In terms of 600
Get the one that you like the style the best.

Hey guys,

I've been riding my dad's old cm 250 for the last few years. Just picked up a ktm rc390 and one day in I am loving it. Hope to see you all out there.

I've got a not really a Motorcycle question, but might be the good place for it.

So around my home and work there are a few crack heads that have shitty old mountain bikes that have a little 49cc engine bolted to it. Are those illegal to ride? If you put a motor on a bicycle, does it not become a moped? Obviously you can't get insurance for it. But are you allowed to use them on public roads?

320icar 09-13-2015 12:11 AM

So these. Road legal? What's the deal. I'm tired of these crack heads riding around

Never mind, found it finally. ILLEGAL

DKaz 09-13-2015 10:05 AM

Yea, they are very illegal on public roads. I saw one pulled over a couple of years ago by a cop. Maybe muffle the shit out of the exhaust and disguise the engine as a battery pack. lol.

It's interesting they use an 80cc motor in it. Probably a standard kit package designed to fit on a whole bunch of bicycles. May be legal on dirt paths.

Awesome bike! So much power for the weight. Enjoy!

Looking for a full piece suit. Any brands you guys stick too?

Hoping for sales as the season is starting to end. If you know any upcoming sales.

TIA

You'll get better suggestions if you give an idea of price range to stick with?

$500ish budget, I could go higher if I had to. It really all depends on the brand and so on. Just looking to see what people use and have used and what they prefer most.

DKaz 09-17-2015 10:28 AM

I think you're typically looking at $900 minimum for a one piece leather suit. You could go textile but they're almost throwaway the first time you go down, while leather will handle a number of slide outs.

DKaz 09-17-2015 10:34 AM

Not that we want you to slide out.

Forgot to add, there will be some end of season deals.

Dragon-88 09-17-2015 02:53 PM

Ya basically i'm just waiting for end of season sales.. If you guys know of any up and coming. Please let me know.

Thanks!

That's about $800 with our crappy exchange rate. :( And he could get dinged for taxes too.

PRS 2015 Year End Party!

Bananana melts in rain so it's depending on weather for me also. I'm planning to do the The 2015 Distinguished Gentlemans Ride on the same day. Hopefully the times won't clash too much!

Sunfighter 09-20-2015 11:21 AM

I did the nerdy wet weather thing yesterday and went to Holeshot to sit on some bikes.

I sat on a KTM RC390, which is a bike I have thought is very cool. It has a very upright riding position and the grips are high and easily accessible. I can imagine this would be a comfortable bike to ride.

Earlier in the day I had read an article in Sport Rider comparing the 1299, S1000RR and the new R1... and it was clear that the R1 had (by far) the most aggressive rider ergonomics. I found it pleasantly accessible. The clip-ons felt fractionally higher than mine and the seat fractionally lower. No question it's an aggressive riding position. I adore the TFT display.

320icar 09-20-2015 12:14 PM

I have a huge boner for the rc390. Hard to get past the 1 cylinder exhaust note though. 50hp is plenty for the city. Same as my gf's old gsxr400. Would like to feel the difference on a new single vs an old straight 4 making similar power. Really want to test ride one
