Did you get your bike to towed/trailered?

nah, i just grew some balls and rode it up where i needed it. kept the bike moving so it didnt over heat, in the end just a busted fan fuse

Would I be able to comfortably ride an R6? I'm 6'4", 215 lbs, currently have an FZ6 and find it to be plenty comfortable. Don't really do super long road trips or anything, mostly commuting. There's a great deal on one locally that I would hate to pass up....

BillyBishop 09-12-2012 07:20 PM

Only one way to find out, go sit on one!

z3german 09-12-2012 07:36 PM

if its short trips why not, but long trips you might be in pain since you are pretty tall, long way to get down in that aggressive position.

I am 5 10ish and i sat on Markysports r1, it was a lot more down there than i expected, but has bishop said gotta try it out yourself!

Would you happen to have a pic of it on your bike?

Is that one of the knockoff visors off ebay? If so, how do you like it?
I am finding it difficult to find an iridium visor for my X11. Been thinking about buying one of the knockoffs

PiuYi 09-14-2012 12:32 PM

has anyone ever been ticketed for using HOV lane that doesn't have the "Motorcycles OK" sign on it?

Here are some visors locally for your X11. Not sure if any are the exact one your looking for.

Nope, it's perfectly legal. Just make sure that it is in fact a HOV lane, not a Bus-Only lane.

I think the on-ramp for the Lion's Gate soutbound has a Bus-Only lane that says "Motorcycles OK" on it.

CharlieH : Do you remember what kind of mileage you would get on your old GSXR 750? Im getting 270~km a tank and I drive fairly conservatively, I feel its a bit too high? I cruise between 4000-4500 rpm and thats like 90% of my riding, fill only 91 or better.

If my mileage is fucked up what can be the problems? Bike feels fine mechanically, no strange smells or sounds.

Thanks if anyone can answer for me x.x

CharlieH 09-19-2012 08:15 PM

270 a tank sounds like a lot. im only getting about 150km out of a 13L tank on my s1000 lol

Don't expect much, it's end of season and your trade in will sit around till next spring.

About to buy a disc lock. Is having one with an alarm that much more beneficial?

I say yes it is, but it shouldnt be your only line of defence.

Most people who hear an alarm think its more annoying than anything instead of thinking that someone is trying to steal or damage a vehicle. It will save you from amateur thieves, but most likely will not save you from vandalism, or parking lot type damage. Its a damn tough world out there for motorcycles. remember to put it on your rear disks as thats more difficult for thieves to get at.

BaoTurbo 09-22-2012 01:39 PM

Is the Learners test hard for motorcycle?

Don't ask me how but I managed to fail the Drivers L test 4 times, but for N and Class 5 I passed easily. Maybe I really suck at studying LOL

Kayci 09-22-2012 07:07 PM

It's about the same difficulty as the Class 7 Knowledge test. There are a few motorcycle specific questions, but overall it's still the same general driving questions. I think it'll be easier this time around as you've been driving for awhile and these things should be ingrained in you :P

Thanks! I was talking to Ben at bayside, and he recommended a 6mm one because it fits in the storage compartment. Instinct says thicker locking pin = more of a deterrent, but then again the whole if they want it, they will get it comes into mind...

Now you can gear up like Batman if you don't want to be a Power Ranger in a one piece :fullofwin:
