Btw if anybody is looking for a place to store their bike, mspeed performance offers it for $30/month and they'll put your battery on a tender.

im going to store mine with modern motorcycle its 90$ to winterize and 1$ a day for storage, you can pay when you pick up the bike and they give you 15% off work needed on the bike if any

Motorcycle Winter Storage - Motorcycle Maintenance Guide

^
Don't forget to lube the cables and the clean&lube the chain too!

kyoshi 10-25-2012 01:08 PM

That's a pretty good guide. Followed it myself last season. Later on if u have any major maintenance items, it's a good time to work on it while the bike sleeps for the winter. More riding time when it's warmer.

Seafoam is on sale at cambodian tire this week, I prefer that over Stabil for the gas tank for winterizing.

Raid3n 10-25-2012 07:36 PM

i'm gonna ride until i see frost on my seat in the morning haha

I have to take it out for the last ride of the season.

Put Seafoam and a tank of 94 octane (no ethanol) but have to do about 45 km to work it through the sub tank and through the injectors before storage.

I rode last winter, took the course first week of Jan, and have not been off the bike, but this winter I will store it.

So tomorrow the plan is

Walk the Dog

Ride the Bike (1 to 2 hours)

Refill the tank & more Seafoam

Clean Air and Crankcase filters

Wash the bike, when it cools down

Let dry

Take plate off

Cover with a few sheets.

Cancel riding insurance.

gdoh 10-27-2012 10:57 PM

i paid 90$ to cancel my insurance yesterday =[

z3german 10-28-2012 11:57 AM

Eh...it's way too sketchy man to ride in this weather. People in cars drive so sketchy when it's raining...you got both slow drivers and drivers that are impatient of slower ones.

jesus christ i wish i had a go pro. going over the alex fraser bridge (i think it is the one from delta to richmond) like 10 min ago, the scene looked exactly like it does on post cards, beautiful British Columbia, it was stunning!

dn53 10-28-2012 06:09 PM

Did it smell like shit? Thats how you know you crossed the alex fraser :D

racerman88 10-28-2012 08:48 PM

It sure was nice. Nice surprise b/c the original forecast was rain

I have a question for storing your bike at home (in a heated garage). I have a front (triple tree stand) and a rear stand. I've read some posts that bikes shouldnt be stored for long periods on a front stand (whether it be triple tree or regular front fork stand) and I've read some posts where you can store on a front stand... Anyone hear differently? Currently I'm just on rear stand with piece of carpet under the front wheel... Thanks in advance :)

misterGinster 10-30-2012 11:02 AM

Best to put them on both stands if you have them.
