Motor cut out about 45 minute walk from home just now. Not sure if its blown or not. We'll see. And it just started raining so I made it back home just in time.


If its blown, I guess I should save up and do a gy6 swap? Or no, not worth it yet

travel direction is south bound on St Edwards. No skid marks. I'm guessing going In too hot, panicked, target fixated on the concrete divider/fence, went right into it and along it. The stretch of fencing is messed. Rider had helmet, jacket, jeans but no gloves or boots. Check fork infront, it's toast right side front cowl, headlight and fairings toast. Front tire: barely broken in.

I was going to study with le gf today (shes in school and i'm not, just thought i would be with her) and I thought I would bring along my Riders' book to read. My asian dad passed by me on his way to work and took the book from me and said I can't drive a motorcycle because its dangerous. After some reasoning he said it was fine to read the book because there's no harm in learning or getting some idea about riding. :)

A question popped in my head today and I was wondering if every rider has to come across some sort of accident to get experience, sort of like driving a car you would at least get into some accident one way or another when you first drive (whether its a scratch or a dent). Is this true out of curiousity?

there's no such thing as a rider that hasn't fallen, only a matter of when and how severe. With proper training from a riding school you minimize the chance and severity.

and experience is always the best teacher.

Indeed. In most cases, as a rider, you WILL have some sort of incident. From something mildly ego-bruising like dropping your bike from a standstill to a oh-shit-i'm-going-too-fast-into-this-corner-imma-grab-some-front-brake-life-flashes-before-your-eyes-highside-on-the-S2S.

Training, not trusting other drivers around you, keeping that ego in check, and not using the streets as your personal racetrack will allow you to have a uneventful riding career.

And definitely, those close calls (either from your own mistakes or from other drivers around you) will definitely help you learn right quick.

Had my holy sh!t moment.. Turned a sharp corner, put my muffler to the ground, target fixated on the gravel around the bend off river road and almost panicked.. Thankfully I remembered what Dat at PRS taught me, I turned my head and focused on a new target and slowed down lol.. Thank you PRS :bowdown:

My "holy sh!t" moment was a couple months back, I wasn't even ripping it.. I was actually slowing down into the corner but when i saw how much gravel was scattered on the road, thats when i got nervous and fixated lol.. Lesson learned, on wards and up wards :P

I pass 4 big construction zones everyday on the way to work. Dust dirt and gravel covers every tight bend. So I take it nice and slow each time cuz I know it's there just waiting for me

Arthur Laing is misleading at times. I've seen many go in too hot (in a cage), loses the tail end, over corrects and smaaashu into barrier.
