i have a ctek and i love it, Ctek Multi 4.3

CTEK Multi US 4.3 - CTEK Battery Chargers

bcrdukes 06-12-2013 04:08 AM

I use a CTEK. It's good for maintaining your battery when you aren't riding the bike. But if the battery is dead (i.e. from sitting for too long) it isn't designed to revive the battery to life.

320icar 06-12-2013 12:58 PM

How quickly do your batteries actually go flat? If you don't have a trickle charger, how long can your bike sit until it won't fire up again

Tough to say. Depends on age/condition of the battery. Longest I managed to get mine without it being on the charger was maybe 1.5 months max? But in my personal experience (others may vary) I prefer to keep mine hooked up if I know I won't be riding for 2 weeks or more simply because on older bikes, you don't want to compromise the charging system. Newer bikes should be okay (?) but again, it comes down to personal preferences. Some people absolutely do not give a shit and that's perfectly fine as well.

Raid3n 06-12-2013 07:01 PM

dukes: the higher models have a "recondition" mode which is supposed to desulphate batteries.

Benefits - CTEK Battery Chargers

item #5

bcrdukes 06-12-2013 08:41 PM

Wow, when I bought my CTEK Multi US 3300 on sale at Canadian Tire, none of these new/higher end chargers were even available on their website.

Looks like they've come a long way!

Raid3n 06-12-2013 08:56 PM

yeah, i went for the Multi US 4.3 because it has selectable modes for car, bike, winter storage, or recondition.

got it on sale at lordco during the trade show for like 60$ i think

racerman88 06-13-2013 12:04 PM

I would assume regular business hours from 9:30-5

CharlieH 06-13-2013 04:04 PM

im down to go on saturday. i need to get my bike dyno'd for a street tune as well.

racerman88 06-13-2013 05:46 PM

Call first to see how much the dyno is. Note that it does not say Free dyno runs.
I know in the past it there was some charge to do a run at other customer appreciation days.

If you went to PRS, don't forget to wear your shirt.

sil-300 06-15-2013 11:41 PM

hey guys, what kind of chain lube do you use? Newbie here, and need to lube up for the first time pretty soon.

gdoh 06-16-2013 08:13 AM

Maxima chain wax is good, same with bel ray (not the blue tac)

I went to Daytona around 1:30/2:00 with the gf she bought pants and a jacket for $400. It felt weird to go to a bike event in a car lol,

I was there from about 10:30 to 1:00 teat rode the Zero S & the FZ-8.

Then went to Pacific and rode a Shiver.

It is still a toss up for the nest bike, the FZ-8 and the Shiver are still contenders next week I will try out a Street Triple.

Those are the three bikes on the short list.

?NR 06-16-2013 11:39 AM

For the Riders of RS:

Would you guys don apparels with RS name on it with customization?

say, beanies/hoodies or others?

just need some input as I'm doing product planning.

thanks.

Raid3n 06-16-2013 12:10 PM

i would wear hoodies for sure

would be cool if we had some riders corner specific stuff ;D

320icar 06-16-2013 04:42 PM

yelnats8 06-16-2013 08:27 PM

Anyone familiar with lubing the clutch cable for an r6? Mine feels a bit stiff and could probably use some lube but i'm not sure how to do it.

gdoh 06-16-2013 09:01 PM

ive never done it either but it looks super super simple. go youtube it
