the gf's gsxr needs new ones due to damage, and i heard pazzo is manufactured out in langley. figured best to support a local business. are most of them universal, aside from length and colour/material?

Pazzo levers are all model specific for the most part. More specifically, the CNC'd end of the lever that attaches to your brake master/clutch (the black part of the lever below). The rest of the lever components are universal, as they are all made to order and assembled then.

Look up their application chart on their website to confirm they do make a lever for your girlfriend's bike. In my recollection the oldest bike I've seen them make levers for is one of '96 gsxr's.

there is a chance the newer gixxers use the same style of mounting.

I suggest you get the full length levers if you want aftermarket.
If you get the shorties, the reach might be too far for your g/f.
If anyone you know has these levers in short and long, ask if you can squeeze the levers to get a feel for it.

Just bought an 07 cbr600rr :fullofwin::toot:

Sunfighter 05-31-2014 05:42 PM

Jas - awesome!!!!

Details!! I LOVED my 2007 CBR!!!

Jas29 05-31-2014 09:54 PM

I'll post pictures tomorrow.

Bought it from an older guy he was in his 50's, only has 12k on it, one owner bike.

The bike is stock other then the windscreen. Has the original tires on it so i'm going to try and get some new rubber this week.

I was thinking the Michelin Pilot Power 3. Looking for some opinions on which tire to chose

MICHELIN Pilot Power 3

Sunfighter 05-31-2014 11:07 PM

That's a perfect tire and very wise and mature of you to put fresh rubber on it right away. Even if the tires had never been used after this much time the bike needs new ones.

Congrats Jas29

I'm riding on a set of Bridgestone Battlax S20 that i've had for a year now, no issues whatsoever with them. they warm up pretty quickly (although not as quick as the softer Pirelli tires) but they hold the heat nicely and are very predictable. Also it's a multicompound tire and i've ridden mostly on highway and so far the middle patch doesn't look any more worn out than the sides are.

Good on you that you're going for tires right away cause I did the same thing when I first got my bike. I got mine when it had only 600km on the odo but it had been sitting for almost 5 years so the tires had cracks like you would not believe.

I had those on my last bike, great street tires I'm going to put them on my new bike once I kill these factory tires.

Go to Motorcycle World on King George for tires.

They have the best price in town - Power 3 - Tires $ 279 = $ 430 installed (tax included)

Sunfighter 06-01-2014 09:14 PM

$430 all-in is a great deal.

Raid3n 06-01-2014 10:31 PM

i paid 440 all in for the same tires at bayside so it's not much of a difference, but since jas is in surrey, motorcycle world would be a hell of a lot more convenient.

Has anyone here dealt with a dirt bike converted to dual sport use?

Pheet 06-02-2014 12:23 PM

Just found out AGV helmets don't fit me :(

Jas29 06-02-2014 03:51 PM

Edit:

What do you guys use to clean the fairings on the bike? It could use a good wash

Gwilo 06-02-2014 07:09 PM

Just booked Pitt Meadows Track Day for June 28.

Will be nice as the WCSS ART Course is this weekend, will have a place to hone the skills.

BRAAAAAP BRAAAAAAAAAAAAP

Anyone know a good place to source hard-to-find vintage parts? My buddy blew the entire top end of his 1979 KZ200 -- completely unsalvagable.

underscore 06-03-2014 11:26 AM

eBay? A quick search found a complete engine for $250 in the US.

Jas29 06-03-2014 11:28 AM

Ebay should have all the parts you need

Sunfighter 06-03-2014 12:44 PM

Jas - any traditional car wash works fine.

Wax when completed but also wash/wax your weeks as well okay. You may need to degrease and scrub them first but once clean and waxed it will be so much easier to maintain them going forward.

It was $120 shipped from Canadianmotorcycles.com

They have a lot of great deals and free shipping over $69. Couldn't find any bags I liked locally.

EDIT: Aaron at modern let me exchange my SP-8 large to a SP-2 Medium about a month after the sale and no questions asked. The large was slightly too big and was bothering me when using the throttle. Just threw another $20 on top and walked out of the store. Great stuff.
