Dam that sucks... did you consider using PRS bikes/Sherpa?

btw you dropped it? as in dropped your R6?

Lesson learned, you will get it next time!

Recon604 06-11-2014 05:13 PM

I did consider it but I gotten used to my r6. I didnt want to put my foot down when doing the uturn and added more throttle to turn. Rear end slipped out and I dropped it.

Yeah hopefully ill get the next one

Gwilo 06-11-2014 06:08 PM

They always fail people on GSXR and R6

zilley 06-11-2014 06:11 PM

^what. LOL.

Jas29 06-11-2014 07:20 PM

Any suggestions on how to lift my bike off the ground. I used two Jack stands on the spools to get the back off the ground but I cant find a way to lift the front of the bike without using a motorcycle stand.

I passed first try on my 2006 gsxr600.

First your nervous, then your like fuck this shit, if I fail , I fail, and did whatever they told me to do and passed. Last samurai style, too much mind.

To the guy who bailed on the u turn, ride your rear brake and throttle lock with your two fingers. Index and middle. You can control the bike at low speeds and scrub speed with just the rear brake. It's like super controlling wheel spin.

Not true at all..

Just keep on practicing and putting in those hours on that bike.

bobbinka 06-11-2014 10:14 PM

Remember your PRS training dude, keep the clutch in the zone, look where you want to go, and squeeze the throttle gently.

Has anyone here gone to westcoast super bike school? If so, how was it? I'm looking to take an advanced course because eventually I want to track my bike

CharlieH 06-12-2014 11:05 AM

Dam that sucks... =[ well hopefully your frame sliders took the brunt of the damage... if you're looking for replacement sliders i'm currently using these sliders from T-Rex racing 0305 TRex Yamaha YZF R6 YZFR6 Frame Sliders NO C good fit and price is decent and they have the Yamaha symbol. Daytona Motorsports thought i had OEM Sliders and they had a hard time finding replacement for it lol

I took the ART course. It is worth every penny.

They will be offering 2 ART courses

The one at Tradex and one a Mission. I would take the one a Tradex first as it gives you a better footing on the basic skills. The one a Mission will be taught at the 'Next' level up.

It is better to have the basics down before moving to the more advanced course, you will then get even more out of the Mission course.

Your other option is take the RoadCraft course first(Control Skills Upgrade) (http://www.roadcraftacademy.com/control-skills-upgrade/ ) , then take the WCSS ART course.

fairings =.=

racerman88 06-13-2014 04:49 PM

Why would you do that?
PRS goes over the general stuff you will be asked to do. Doing a U turn on a sportbike is not easy. Remember to counter steer.
Not worth the risk of dropping the bike unfortunately as you found out.
I'm surprised that you did not book the road test and use PRS' bike since you took lessons from them.

Jas29 06-13-2014 05:34 PM

New tires, sprockets and chain installed

dmak4 06-14-2014 05:48 PM

Buying a first bike soon, any advice on what I should look out for when buying a used bike?
I would consider myself as a beginner, but I'm pretty set on either a CBR600 or GSXR600. Not looking to sell the bike for awhile either.
My co-worker is looking to sell me his Honda CBR600rr, believe it's the newer 2007+ one.
I'm 5"10, ~165lbs and in good shape if that helps haha.
Opinions on the CBR600 or GSXR600, pros cons?

zilley 06-14-2014 08:20 PM

I personally like the gsxr over the cbr.

you got your license?
