I’ve driven back and forth between Vancouver and Calgary a whole bunch of times and down to Lethbridge and Seattle and flew to England etc in the last few months, stopping in so many towns big and small talking to random people at various points of interaction, business based or random social occurrences…
Each and every time I think about all these people I know in real life and online that do nothing but bitch about how Canada is destroyed and everyone and everything is miserable and immigrants this no one can live anymore blah blah blah blah blah… I’m not going to try and “convince” anyone to change their views, but holy shit I feel bad for the mental state of these people, sitting in their house reading and digesting bullshit that isn’t true instead of seeing what’s actually around them. People from all walks of life and cultures are actually happy and helpful and having generally good times and want positive interactions with others around them if you don’t have your eyes glued to X streams all day long.

I read so many stories of 23ish year old guys who can't do anything in life, meanwhile, at that age I made my best month ever, something like $24,000 in a month!
Knowing how much pressure and stress people are under these days compared to only even a decade ago, let alone how fucking insanely easy life was 20 years ago for most people.... maybe it is why I am extra friendly most days and you'd thinik I live in fucking Mr. Rodger's Neighbourhood with how friendly and kind I usually am.
Most people are 1-2 paydays from being homeless, and with smart phones, being cancelled, social media, you bet that most 9-5 cattle slaves are on their best behavior while the crackheads already have nothing to lose and act out all the time... before the system finishes them off with an overdose.
Just imagine how much worse this country would be if we hadn't killed those, what, 50k people dead from drug overdoses in the last 10 years? I don't even remember the stats anymore. Canada purges people deliberately.

Again man, this isn’t a government conspiracy. I believe the governments policies of the last 25 years have definitely made them complicit, but we should be blaming real estate investors (blackstone and shit) and them being allowed to fuck our housing market. We should be blaming drug dealers and opioid manufacturers for the OD deaths.

The ruling government party doesn’t set the rates. The BOC does which is independent of any parties. I guess it’s an extension of government, but I don’t see how the “blame the libs” or “blame the cons” narrative would fit.
People wouldn’t need to overbid for houses if corporations and builders weren’t controlling supply.
