It was snowing very very lightly in White Rock early yesterday morning. Saw snowflakes floating around while I was out walking the dog. I am on the border of South Surrey and White Rock just south of 16th Ave, so rather high altitude.

To be fair, the prairies are flat while Vancouver and the west coast in general has a slew of hills that causes extra issues.

It's funny, I bought a jeep right after the last big snow storm we had. With my luck, we'll probably get the most epic dump in 50 years once I sell my jeep :okay:

Hurry up and sell your jeep. Just traded in our 05 F150 for a 2012 F150, snow = FUN

To be fair Kamloops, kelowna and many other cities in BC have hills and get along just fine... In Vancouver people don't seem to know how to drive in snow; some people even in general

Not really fair.

Say 1/10 people cant drive in the snow. Compare populations btw lower mainland + interior. There are far more people on the road who don't have an f'in clue around here. Plus there aren't many C-Lais outside of the lower mainland.. just sayin :troll:

Last year when Victoria got a few inches of snow, I think the 1/10 who can't drive in snow was more like 8/10... It was so bad...

That's a HUGE understatement, realistically it's probably 5/10 can't drive in the snow (properly) and it usually feels like 9/10 can't.

The C-Lais population in Winnipeg is really surprising.

quit using the shitter network and use the meteorologist that you pay with your tax dollars

Vancouver, British Columbia - 7 Day Forecast - Environment Canada

dL 12-02-2012 01:18 PM

Generally, if weathernetwork only predicts 1 day of snow, then it's usually inaccurate.

But if the trend is dropping and staying below 0 for an entire week, chances are it's gonna happen.

I don't get how a high of 7 can turn into -12 at ngiht

Harvey Specter 12-02-2012 10:05 PM

Supposedly we have a mild or "normal" winter outlook with possible snow in Jan/Feb so we shall wait and see.

Soundy 12-02-2012 10:13 PM

Weather Channel tends to agree with Environment Canada: Vancouver Weather Forecast and Conditions - weather.com

The Weather Network has always been terrible for accuracy. When I was working with a stock car team, weather and temps were always important for tire setup, and we invariably found Env. Can. to be far more reliable - Weather Network was all over the place.
