Araaadi 11-18-2016 04:22 PM

twitchyzero 11-18-2016 05:09 PM

yeah I grabbed one
I don't have a 4k TV though...and haven't played any games that take advantage of it yet.

6o4__boi 11-25-2016 01:11 PM

Noticed on Costco.ca that there is a Pro Bundle with COD Infinite warfare and extra controller for $611.

Can anyone confirm if this is available in the warehouse and what the warehouse price is?

nabs 11-29-2016 05:53 PM

Final Fantasy XV released today! Finally!

GLOW 11-29-2016 07:17 PM

if you don't plan on getting a 4k TV are you fine with a ps4 slim?

Well you'd save money going with the Slim. If you had aspirations of buying PSVR then you'd have a better experience with the PS4P. Otherwise just get the slim and buy some games with the extra money.

if you game casually and don't care too much about graphics..yeah slim is fine
for anyone who's more technically-inclined...for just $120 more over the course of couple of years it's probably worthwhile

well, the price for a ps4 slim is $380. the price for a ps pro is $500. that's how you spend $120 more to get the 4k version...

6o4__boi 12-01-2016 07:06 AM

picked up the COD ps4 pro bundle at Costco for 599

now hopefully boxing day will have good 4k tv sales

I think for me, this maybe the FF game worth playing after FFVII !

hchang 12-01-2016 12:56 PM

PS4 will soon support external USB hard drives

Until now, expanding the storage space on your PS4 from the standard 500GB to 1TB built into the system involved opening up the system and sliding in a new internal drive. That process won't be necessary for much longer, as the PS4's upcoming Version 4.5 firmware will add support for USB 3.0 hard drives up to 8TB.

Just before the PS4 launched in 2013, Sony noted that PS4 games had to be "cached to the hard drive to ensure a smooth gaming experience." If streaming all that game data to the system over a USB connection was a bottleneck at launch, it's apparently no longer a concern for Sony (at least for drives that support USB 3.0's faster data transfer rates). Games, saved data, and captures screenshots and videos will all be storable on external drives, and that data will show up on the main system menu without the need to shuffle them to the internal storage.

The announcement of the external HD support comes as the beta of firmware version 4.5 rolls out to selected PS4 users today. That firmware also brings the ability to use in-game screenshots as home screen wallpapers, streamlined interface improvements, and new support for stereoscopic 3D Blu-Ray discs.

The Xbox One has supported external hard drives up to 16TB since shortly after its launch. That's been a handy feature, since the Xbox One's built-in internal hard drive is not designed to be replaced by the user (though there are cumbersome ways around that).

The Wii U supported external hard drives up to 2TB since its launch in 2012. The 32GB of internal storage on the upcoming Nintendo Switch can be expanded via microSDXC cards up to 2TB. Nintendo has said that the system could technically support external hard drives via the USB 2.0 slots on the TV dock, but that feature has reportedly not been activated because such storage would not be usable when the system is in portable mode.
awwwww yissssss
about damn time

PS4 Pro is getting a boost mode in this update...pushes higher framerates in non-patched games.

not very much titles and a lot of them look stupid...im quite sure the launch pack costs 800 and the stand alone vr is 500,same price as buying another console for shit VR Games....well the new resident evil supports it but thats about it.

support external USB hard drives?...not bad if you want bigger then 2tb you can currently install.

1. https://www.amazon.ca/PlayStation-Sl...rds=ps4+bundle
2. https://www.amazon.ca/PlayStation-Sl...rds=ps4+bundle

why is the 2nd option over 110$ more ? when the game can be had for like 50$ lol if i just buy the 1st option

StylinRed 02-05-2017 11:17 AM

your links are identical edit: eh thats weird they're not identical, my browsers just messed up lol

twitchyzero 02-20-2017 12:02 PM

HZD getting great reviews

Horizon: Zero Dawn for PlayStation 4 Reviews - Metacritic

can't wait to try out this pretty game

6o4__boi 02-20-2017 12:34 PM

were the slims/original usually noisy? (fan-wise)

compared to my slim ps3
i find the pro a bit noisy...uncharted made it pretty noisy after an hour in
COD:IW by comparison is pretty quiet. I can play MP/Zombies for a couple hours and the thing is death quiet.

Fallout 4 is kinda the same...about an hour or so into gameplay, the fan will just go into cycles of loud/quiet/loud quiet

and this is me just using a 1080p tv

m3thods 02-20-2017 03:16 PM

I can't hear my PS4 slim over COD:IW. I don't use it for much else.

I find it quieter than my PS3 slim but a bit. WAY quieter than my PS3 fat.

That said it does generate a ton of heat. When I put my controllers away you can definitely feel the heat surrounding the unit. It's in a fairly open area of my entertainment center too.
