If you guys have PS+ and didn't get Bloodborne yet I highly recommend it. Bought the DLC on sale a week ago and it adds good content.

MarkyMark 03-21-2018 11:08 AM

How hard is Bloodborne? I like a challenge but I also don't want to rage quit every time I die and have to do an hours worth of progress all over again.

If you gang bang the bosses with friends (it's a bit of a process to summon people), it's easy. if you solo the game it's pretty difficult. You get one shield late in the game and it's a POS. it's a pretty reflex intensive game. faster pace than dark souls.

prepare to be mobbed if you don't know what to expect. One thing I can guarantee you is that you'll die at least a dozen times in your first hour. If you're new to the series

Razor Ramon HG 03-21-2018 01:54 PM

It's pretty hard, I still get flustered sometimes and I'm basically at the last boss (just doing DLC and chalice dungeons right now). Definitely worth picking up since it's free with PS+. Just have to get used to dying, lol.

MarkyMark 03-21-2018 03:07 PM

When I played The Evil Within I think I died close to 200 times by the end, i don't mind that if the checkpoints are fair about it.

I love bloodborne. Bought it when it first came out. I'm a total hack n slash type guy and was used to button mashing but I learned quickly after repeatedly dying. I wasn't a fan of the souls game but this game was awesome. Can't wait for the sequel to come out :fullofwin:

Calling it now, God of War will be GOTY 2018.

Having tons of fun. Way different compared to GOW3, which I played just before my copy of GOW4 came in the mail.

Koflach 04-28-2018 08:57 AM

agreed, so far the story has been fantastic. Too often games rely on online play for a large amount of gameplay and totally disregard the actual solo storyline. It's nice to see they haven't done that here.

I agree, lot different from previous GoW. AAA title for sure.

Just a few days ago, Sony announced cross-play support between PlayStation 4 and other gaming consoles. The company had been opposed to this for a long time, which is why it was so surprising to see this feature come to PlayStation 4. Fortunately, Sony had a change of heart, and gamers from all around the world were excited to hear the big news.

Ok so I was always a serious gamer but since the birth of my son 4 years ago I sold my then PS4 and XBOX One due to no time. 4 years have gone by and I'm getting close to making a come back but the question is how far away are we from the next Gen system?

No one knows, but it's at least a year away by current rumours. I'd guess it's probably more than that. AMD doesn't even have next gen tech out yet and there's no way console manufacturers are going to start building consoles with one bidder for GPUs.

SkinnyPupp 10-01-2018 04:21 PM

I think "next gen" is going to be more blurry than ever, and instead we'll just get more incremental upgrades. Similar to the iphone... New more powerful model with some new features, but still plays the old games. Then an "S upgrade" (PS4 Pro, Xbox One X) a while after that.

twitchyzero 10-01-2018 07:02 PM

I wouldn't bother getting back in now...IMO the entire industry has been in a steady decline since 2011 and then there was a time when indies carried the steam for a few years

so many worthwhile studios have either been bought out or closed shop

I guess that's just the name of the game since production are much lengthier/expensive to make

something fresh comes along and everyone jumps on the bandwagon...for a while it was zombies from left 4 dead era...recently battle royale from PUBG

now it's mostly copy-paste loot boxes and remasters of old games

why not wait another 2 years and get a Nintendo and play with your son?

So it looks like the current state of gaming is where I ended it lol. In the past 4 years I would randomly hear about what the hottest games were and I'd be like wtf is this shit? Just give me Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Grand Theft Auto.

At the tail end of my gaming after playing COD for years when they started going all high tech and turning into players jumping around on jet packs I was so done with that franchise. The very last game I played was Metal Gear and holy fuck was that horrible too. Pretty much ruined the entire franchise for me in 1 game. I had hoped things have got better and I've been itching hard for some good solid 3rd person or 1st person.

I guess I'll wait lol or unless The Last Of Us 2 came out that would single highhandedly make me come back.

There's still lots of good games depending what you're into. I find too many games want to do the open world thing these days. For a casual gamer it's sometimes too much getting into a game that takes 50 hours to finish. I really appreciate games like Uncharted where you can play for an hour, come back a week later and keep going without skipping a beat.

The only open world games I'll play these days are from Rockstar because it's done well and they only come out with a game like every 4 years.

I'm purely a 1st and 3rd person game person so no sports, racing, puzzle, rpg etc.

Uncharted, Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Red Dead (I see there's a new one), COD (Pre high tech bullshit) you get the idea.

mikemhg 10-03-2018 09:03 AM

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out end of October. That will be enough to bring you back, Winston.

Vansterdam 10-03-2018 10:00 AM
