Is the PS4 PRO really that much of a necessity IF i'm not going to bother with 4k for the time being? Is there a VR option for the PS4?

if it's a difference of $100...go for the pro
$250 vanilla ps4 bundle is gonna be hard to pass up if you're looking to jump in though

If you're going to do VR on the PS4 eventually, I would go with the Pro.

It's a mid model refresh, not a completely new console.

the bundles right now are really good for the 1TB slim.

But if you plan on upgrading to a 4K TV in the future at all then the Pro is worth it. Upgraded last week and been enjoying the 4K

Yeah well there was a lot of people in the start ready to dump they're first gen ps4 including me on a ps4 pro if it was able to play 4k blu-ray and even games at true 4k.



Nope,everyone found out it couldn't do any of that,and ton of people couldn't tell the difference with the minor up-scaled graphics,wasn't worth the trouble of upgrading at all,now Xbox one X does all that and people can notice the better textures.



yeah if you're interested in playstation VR....its almost the same price as another console and what AAA titles besides resident evil really make it worth while...i would hate to drop that much coin on it for one game.

haven't played a Naughty Dog title on PS4 yet but just beat The Lost Legacy

the set pieces destroy the previous-gen games by quite a stretch...fairly long playtime for a DLC too

Definitely give Uncharted 4 a play, I'm playing lost legacy right now and they are both great games.

if you haven't played the uncharted collection yet i'd go for that first....tons of memories and fun...uncharted 4 felt lack luster compared to the very first.

I think part 2 was the best, 4 was probably the most polished of them all though, it was like playing a damn movie.

You have lots of time. Last of Us 2 will be a while. I can't wait!

monster hunter world beta on starts today for the weekend!

I never "got" Monster Hunter. I've played 3, 4 ultimate and world beta. I really tried to like it, but something about it doesn't feel intuitive. The bosses are certainly memorable but they aren't challenging in a way that's rewarding. I find the time limit and the boss running from screen to screen tedious and chasing them down to run the timer artificially pads the game.

The controls are clunky at best. The game is just frustrating where it's not supposed to be, for example, the world physics is weird, sometimes you have a small step that you run over then your character goes ape shit doing a leap into the air arms flailing. Like, wtf?

Interface is less clunky now on the PS4 with switching and using items. But it still sucks balls. For a game that's so far removed from reality, it places so much emphasis on structure based in reality. You have to sheath your weapon so you have free hands to drink a potion, i dunno, it's not intuitive to me.

I'll pass on the rest of the monster hunter games and stick with From Software. To each their own, but I feel like I wasted my time on Monster Hunter even though I only invested a few hours into each game. Souls series warms my heart. Fluid, intuitive, and truly challenging and rewarding boss fights with PVP.

Pre-ordered last week and should be arriving tomorrow. Also pre-ordered Dissidia since I loved both games on the PSP.

Am currently on the fence about MH:World. I played the beta and it was ok (first time playing trying out the series). I also find it a bit clunky and slow, but I've been grinding through FFXV the past two weeks so I think that might be why.

oh geez God of War coming i'm about to ruin my family life over this (and perfect time to upgrade to pro)....well at least the older twins can play with me now :fullofwin:

Finally! I've had this on pre-order with amazon for quite a while. I've got this and Days Gone for $50 each. Hopefully it will get released prior to the "2019" release date it currently has.
