^ Currency and financial markets... I'm not even into it, it's too techy for me I can't wrap my mind around half of it... but I laughed the other day when I saw a FA white-faced on TV trying to cling to telling people to engage their FA for their lifetime of annual 3-4% gains while he knows full well what kind of money people are making without an FA these days...

In the end, he said he suggests clients devote 5% of their investments to crypto... I know it must have hurt him to say that since he won't make anything from it, but the fact they're willing to "give" that 5% away to avoid looking stupid shows what a force that medium has become and will continue to become.

What are your guys' thoughts on BTC/ETH ETFs?

I understand "not your keys, not your coins" , but I still have about 40K of room in my TFSA (didn't understand the use of TFSA until my late 20s huehuehue)

donk. 11-08-2021 08:47 PM

Put into tfsa > pay tax when you pull, no rugpull risk, non liquid cashmoneys

Put into wallet > no tax but might get wallet rugpulled, liquid cashmoneys

Younger kids like my niece and nephew they don’t want to own anything they play with toys but they care more about virtual items and see value in that… it’s hard for me to wrap my mind around cuz I am a big collector of stuff but yah they care way more about virtual rare items on their games and stuff than collecting actual cards or whatever

StylinRed 11-08-2021 09:38 PM

I guess it's like how we were with diablo or world of war craft items

We were into it and wanting to look unique, but the thing with those is we quickly stopped caring

It seems with the latest and ensuing gens tho is that they're into it for a lot longer

Im trying so stake klima now. it's a little more work but I should have it done tomorrow. Will post about it then. Have 1.280055265 ohm now started with 1.229 ohm 1:05 PM on the 5th.

StylinRed 11-09-2021 01:48 AM

Metamask doesn't show up as an option when I click connect wallet on the olympusdao page :/

Edit: so I was able to connect with metamask thru my desktop, couldn't do it thru my phone, which is odd to me, but oh well got it working

FYI 8000% is only going to last until Jan 4th and then it's expected to dip down to 1000%

Something world changing is happening right now. Olympus DOA has a market cap of 3.9 billion and it's like 6 months old. Thats just a small part of the crypto space. Remember dial up internet? That's where we are now. Back then who would of thought one of the worlds richest men would be a guy who sold books online.

Liquid_o2 11-09-2021 12:14 PM

But also remember the dot com bust. Some online companies emerged out of it, but many others went bankrupt. I feel we are headed down the same path. It will be interesting to look back at this in 10 to 20 years.

The thing with crypto and many other investments is that somehow people need a justification of why something is pumping or dumping and try to 200 IQ the situation. Can someone explain why TSLA is worth 1T marketcap? Or why housing is booming? Why are gold and silver stagnant? The reason doesn't really matter, what's important is identifying a trending market and following that trend. If you wanna be the 200 IQ guy and miss out on life changing gains because the market doesn't make sense, that's your call but I'd rather just follow the herd and 50 IQ it.

All of those things are supply and demand.
The difference between all of those and crypto, is all of those things are tangible. I'm not saying I won't/haven't invested in crypto, just because it's stupid. Just saying eventually, you keep following the 50IQ model you're going to run out of luck at some point.

Before I talk about staking klima I got a perfect use for NFT's. Your car. Imagine your car had an NFT with all the paperwork and a digital key. When you go to sell the car the person buying just buys the NFT and the car is transferred to them. No need to go to the bank or an insurance agent. Every single time the car is sold a record is kept on the ledger.

Now staking Kilima.

This took some work. I needed some Matic so I could swap it for Klima. Matic exists on the Ethereum network and the Polygon network. Metamask allows you to swap eth for Mactic but thats on the eth network and I need it on the Polygon network. So I opened an account on the hotbit exchange. Sent eth to hotbit, converted it to USDT and traded it for Matic. Now because my account was new I had to wait 24 hours before I could withdraw it.

24 hours later I connected to the Polygon network in Metmask and sent my Matic. then I went to Sushiswap and swaped my Matic for Klima. Then I went to the klima website to stake. Big problem, the gas fee of around .90 cents was in Matic and I did not have enough Matic. FUCK!!!!!! So I sent .03 eth to hotbit for a gas fee around $20. Converted eth to USDT and then USDT to Matic. Sent Matic to my Metamask wallet but nothing showed up. I had no I idea what was going on. The transaction was pending for 5 hours. Finally use Sushiswap to swap most of my Matic to Klima the staked it. None of my staked Klima showed up on Metamask. Quick google said I have to import the token. Did that and now I am earning 35960 APY and helping remove co2 from the earth.

StylinRed 11-09-2021 10:10 PM

That's what I hated about olympus the jumping around exchanges n all the gas fees

I'd be interested in klima n wonderland too but the thought of getting it done is like ugh

Curious what brought you to this conclusion?

StylinRed 11-10-2021 03:17 AM

Games seem to be sticking around longer, like roblox. There are more collectibles/toys which are virtual rather than physical, like trading cards, n these toys which r physical but u don't really use, u simply plug em into a gaming system to play with a virtual character

kids just seem more accustomed to virtual items, and their virtual toys seem to be lasting as long as our physical toys did, rather than being short lived, like our stint at X mmorpg items

Just basing it off of my nephews nieces n god kid

I looked at virtual items with a different context than they do I guess, I looked at them as a short lived interest that would soon be replaced/forgotten/deleted, and it seems like they look at their virtual items as we did our cherished childhood toys, something we may quickly replace, but hold onto for life

Sorry if I'm incoherent it's 4am :lol

The biggest gainers in this year are those who just APED into the market, low IQ and all.

"Let's throw $1k at DOGE/SHIBA" Boom, millionaires.

Damn. That's a lot of work.

I have some money in my Binance Smart Chain and I can't even access it.. lol There's no way i'll be able to do what you did.

Razor Ramon HG 11-10-2021 09:34 AM

My cousin dabbles in Uniswap and all that.

Back in 2017 I used to play with Etherdelta and Metamask, but I can't be bothered to do all these things anymore.

If it's not on Binance I won't even take another glance.. :lol

unit 11-10-2021 10:38 AM

you can actually get matic for free in small amounts to cover gas fees.

Bitcoin mining is not recommended unless you have an extremely powerful PC-find odd jobs that pay in bitcoins, or just buy them with cash.
