how profitable is bitcoin mining, say if bitcoin just sits at the same price forever? how long does it take to ROI on a rig, not factoring in the resale value of the rig itself? also do you have to keep your room AC'd if you have like 5+ desktops running 24/7?

not saying im considering it, but i'm considering it. lol

Good luck getting any equipment. We have a world wide shortage of shortage of parts. I am checking facebook market place multiple times a day right now for used gaming pc's.

If market stays the same, which i doubt.
and
IF you getting scalper price.
Probably takes about 10 to 12 months to recoup the cost.

+1 to What IME said

Let's say $2k CAD for a 3080, non lhr, you're looking at $7-$9 a day, let's say $8 average a day - withdrawal fees and electricity $7 a day average (maybe a lil less) so 286 days just for the card, and not your pc (mb psu etc) and who knows what the markets gonna be like especially after ETH leaves

And you're probably gonna end up with an LHR card, so increase your time by like 25% so 1yr to ROI (keeping the gpu estimate at 2K)

Then there's the cost of ur equipment to consider, so, well into a year for it all

Wonder if they'll find him by the time this is released :lol

Razor Ramon HG 09-24-2021 08:25 PM

I'd watch that. I was probably one of the last ones to get my cash out. It wasn't a significant amount of money, but it would've made me pretty sad 4-5 years ago, lol.

About a week ago a old guy comes into our store to use the bitcoin machine. He was on the phone and I knew he was being scammed. I told him multiple times he was being scammed. He would not listen but i kept at it. He finally left without using it. 30 min later he came again. I told him again he was being scammed and he left Today he came in again and handed me this.

He thanked me for stopping him from getting scammed.

What’s the story with the Bitcoin machine scam manic? It sounds like it’s happening often. Good on you for helping people out when it does, but has having the machine become more trouble than it’s worth? I don’t really know what the deal is.

hud 91gt 09-29-2021 03:29 PM

Keep up the Good Samaritan act and he may bring in a lot of non taxable income in GC’s! Lol. Good on ya!

Basically the store/google/apple gift card scam but with bitcoin.

Get someone thinking they owe money because of XYZ, have to pay off using bitcoin instead of GCs.

westopher 09-29-2021 07:18 PM

So the atm like bitcoin machine allows you to transfer to someone? Then I suppose it's not traceable as well.

It's not really trouble since I like talking to people who are into crypto. With the ATM you scan a QR code for a wallet to where you want the crypto to go. I always make sure people have there own wallet or know the person they are sending money to.

Scammers pretend to be the RCMP and want to verify your money or they claim to be thr CRA and want you to pay back taxes. You also have people claiming if you invest with them they will 10x your money.

It's one of the most popular restaurants in town. Before covid there would be lineups outside on a Friday/Saturday nights.

68style 09-29-2021 10:31 PM

Richmond one is the same deal (before Covid)
