Updated. The animations on my 4s are not very smooth. Color schemes are ok once you get used to it. Miss the old iPhone colors though

I find it a bit slow on the iPhone 5 too but barely noticeable. The new colors will take some time to get used to. I kind of like old safari better. The one one doesn't hide the address bar anymore so it's always in the way.

keep in mind...that the iOS install might be slow at first while it is restoring your apps from backup. I've been running the beta since 1 on my ip5 and it is smooth and fast....

ToneCapone 09-18-2013 01:48 PM

Just updated IP5... very refreshing so far. Feels like it's a mini techy Christmas :nyan:

IOS is very bright with a ton of color. Fairly easy to get used to.
Love the fact that they included new backgrounds and sounds.

I can't pin point it exactly but it has a Google feel to it...

It seems they have restricted the scaling of photos in terms of resizing for wallpapers. Photos that I used to use as a wallpaper will not zoom out anymore, leaving me with just a portion of the actual photo itself.

Anybody else having this problem?

I do. First thing I noticed and was a bit irritating

It's motion depth thing they have going on so the background moves. To shut it off go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce motion

Ikkaku 09-18-2013 03:21 PM

Even after disabling it, it will not let me zoom out like before. I'm guessing it is because they want to have the entire screen filled, which is why they limited how far you can zoom out.

Iceman_2K 09-18-2013 03:27 PM

My 5 is running smoother and faster than it was before.

Loving it but finding it hilarious that all the Apple hipsters are raving about features webOS had 4 years ago :lawl:

FRStan 09-18-2013 05:18 PM

About time they had a built in flashlight app!
Also, it generally runs quite smooth on my 4S except for text messaging

I like the refreshing new look of the os.
I've never been a huge apple fan but I've always had an ipod. Just updated it today and it looks awesome.

I just wish there was a setting to get rid of that blurred bar at the bottom of the homescreen. I feel like it takes away alot of wallpaper real estate

I feel like its a tad bit less snappy than ios 6 on my iPhone 5...

Anyone notice double tapping the home button to get to the multitask tray is slower? There's a split second delay before it jumps to it.

nope find it pretty smooth

k3lv 09-18-2013 06:27 PM

everything is smooth after 10-15 mins of loading up ios7 for the first time. I read it lags in the beginning due to it pre-loading all the old apps to be updated for ios7. I also got stuck at icloud for a while but everything worked out in the end.

Loving the new ios so far. The change up is a great fresher-upper

Downloading now for ipad 2 and iphone 5. I REALLY hope this addresses some of the main issues I have with ios. Dangonay says it does but I don't really trust him to be objective :fuckthatshit:

Iceman_2K 09-18-2013 06:57 PM

what were your issues?

Rather than go through point by point, I'll just say that iOS 6 is extremely outdated overall. Maybe you only really notice after using Android 4.x for a while.

Also performance is pretty bad for multitasking, even on the iphone 5. Hopefully 7 improves that, but with only 1GB of RAM I doubt it will make things better. If anything, it'll be worse. We'll see!

anyone update to 7 on an ipad 2?

if so, how did it run?

SkinnyPupp 09-18-2013 07:31 PM

Podcast app didn't get updated :seriously:

LiquidTurbo 09-18-2013 07:59 PM

I like the subtle animation changes compared to before. Definitely my favorite addition is swipe from left

Updated 3 devices with iOS 7

iPhone 5 16gig - smooth, fast, slick

iPad 3 16gig - minor, occasional lag but bearable

iPhone 4 16gig - fairly laggy navigating through folders and apps but somewhat bearable.
- changing wallpapers froze it for up to 10seconds.
- bit of lag when launching some apps.

I would say runs pretty well but the iPad 2 is definitely showing its age. Minor lag every now and then but it's bearable, probably same as iOS 6

nabs 09-18-2013 09:12 PM

it will take some getting used to. not used to the iPhone to be running so fluidly.

DanHibiki 09-18-2013 09:26 PM

ya this slight mutlitasking delay is bugging me...I can't be the only one who notices it
