iOS 7 changes are overwhelmingly cosmetic (hands-on) Apple iOS 7 - Operating systems - CNET Reviews Seems the changes are pretty good. Now I wonder how the actual new iphone looks like. |
too android! |
Maybe the MODS could just change the title to the iOS 7 Thread and merge this one with comments from the other thread. No need to have discussions spread around. Been playing with the beta since last night and also with Xcode. They're right when they said there were a lot more changes than what they could go over at the keynote. Many items that just received a one-liner on the feature slides are actually significant. For example, gaming. They now have a hardware-accelerated animation system for developers along with a new framework for external wired/wireless controllers/profiles. Airdrop isn't just a feature - developers can use the AirDrop framework to add the ability to share to their own Apps. iOS already dominates Enterprise and they've improved it with enhanced VPN support and mobile device management features. Eye-candy is nice, I guess, but not something I'm really interested in. Hell, I still have the default Windows wallpaper on my machines - that shows you how much I'm into customizing. But the interface is nice and clean and more consistent, which is good. |
most of the new features are tweaks i had before i lost my jailbreak lol |

I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 last night. I welcome the changes. My phone was previously jailbroken and the tweaks I was using are now integrated to iOS 7. For a beta, it runs great. I've discovered a couple of bugs but nothing major. Posted via RS Mobile |
Welcome to 2009! |
It's funny, watching the live updates about the show. I definitely welcome some of the new changes to iOS7, but then you step back and realize it's crazy that some of those changes are features that have been missing for years. When he demo'd the weather app, the app is great and all with the dynamic background... but why couldn't they get the icon on the main screen to just update with the current temp and weather? This is 2013, and all the other OS's have updating widgets and tiles. Every coffeeshop/fast food join has free wifi now - did it really take this many years to have your wifi page easily accessible? |
new lockscreen looks like android haha |
Played with it for two nights now... really enjoy it. |

Edited: Forgot that Inter-App Audio was on one of the slides for iOS 6, but never made it into the final version. Then Audiobus cameout and people wondered if this was the same thing. Now it looks like Apple has included it this time around. Big news for people doing anything with music. |
Want to try out...all those UDID reg sites are down :( want to try it on my ipod touch |

More like control center is the SBSettings on my jailbroken 3G |
for those without iphone 5, I won't recommend updating to iOS7, even when its final released. I installed it on a 4S and a 5... the 4S looks like windows running without aero, and the phone slowed down dramatically. iPhone 5 on the other hand looks much better I can't imagine how slow it will run on an iphone 4... considering its already fucking slow when running 6.1 |
This looks like a refresh to keep up-to-date with the other rising mobile OS'es (Android, WP8, Berry) rather than coming up with something entirely new. There's hardly any features that's unique to iOS7, and many new layouts reminds me of Android. |
I installed on my 5 and it's been alright. Been running into quite a few bugs but understandable since it is a beta release. It is really more of a refresh, there isn't anything "new" I think the coolest thing is the parallax background lol. |

But for anyone who needs to use their phone on a regular basis - don't do it. |
I guess this is what happens when they decide not to copy android features.. lol... nothing impressive.... |
For those who installed it, did you get a friend to give your device access, or are you actually developers (and have you played around with Xcode yet)? |
I'm an actual developer but I haven't played around with xcode yet going to poke around when I get home. No projects at work have switched to the new SDK/Xcode yet. Probably soon though. |
iOS 7 feels slow when switching apps, going to home screen, multitasking, and tapping the screen for pop-up controls (ie. video player). The delay is definitely noticeable and I hope this is just a beta thing. Also I noticed another problem. When trying to rearrange apps in a folder you can move anything to the right pages. It thinks you want to move the app out of the folder instead. But other than the bugs this new OS looks and feels GREAT! I complained bout the looks and all too but the transitions from app to app and such feels awesome. Also. Vancouver now has 3D maps! |
Don't like the new colour scheme.... like everything else. You don't need to register your UDID... instead of restore .. chose update to apply IOS7 to your phone |
i hate to say it.... but i know some of you are expecting it from me :) they copied a lot of Symbian in these changes and WebOS |
