@DarrenDreger: Oilers offered three 2nd round picks for Braydon Coburn at the Draft and couldn't close the deal. Trades in season are much harder to make. |
Kadri gets 3 games. I can live with that. |

^pretty much. Leafs can't call up anyone without sending someone down at this point. At least 2 of the games are back to back against the Sabres and hopefully Bozak can return after that. |

And, also, obviously PHI wouldn't take that deal |
David Shoalts @dshoalts Shanahan said 3 games for Kadri boiled down to this: It wasn't intentional but he didn't do enough to avoid "or minimize" hit on Backstrom. |

maybe it just applies to Bob Mack haha but if Dreger is as bad as Eklund...:okay: I hope Philly continues their strong comeback. #28 is a Crosby killer |

Funny how Lucic got nothing for...probably a much more malicious hit but Miller was way out of the crease. |
^ Boston gets a free pass. :troll: |

And the Oilers need to take notes from the Avs on how to rebuild. I don't think the Avs sustain their performance the whole season, but at least it gives some hope, and their prospects are nowhere near the caliber of Edmonton's prospects, IMO. |
So what notes should they be taking? Draft lesser prospects = success? Posted via RS Mobile |

Mackinnon, E. Johnson, Landeskog, Duchene, and O'Reilly vs. Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Yakupov, Gagner, and Eberle It really doesn't seem like Edmonton has much, if any, skill advantage there. Maybe a bit more offensive skill, but Colorado certainly has players that have a more diverse skillset than Edmonton's. O'Reilly and Landeskog are both very versatile players and Mackinnon has some bite to his game as well. Only Duchene is similar to most of Edmonton's prospects and I'm hesitant to say he's any better or worse than them skill-wise. |
1) You need a goalie who can stop pucks 2) You need to have defensemen 3) You need forwards to actually play defense, mainly because you have no defenseman and the guy you rely on as your top d-man thinks he's a forward I don't know what the Av's are doing right, I don't follow them, but if you're an Oilers fan it must hurt like hell to see a rebuilding team go from last in the west to 2nd in the NHL in just 1 off season (like I mentioned I don't think they stay there though). Or maybe it gives them hope, who knows. |

So basically the Oilers have too many of the same players, but they are unwiling to part with them (or have been in the past) to allow the whole team to move forward. That's not any of the players' fault. The Oilers now have a coach who's pretty bent on work ethic, was known as a player's coach, pretty good track record of working with and developing young players. Change doesn't happen overnight, but so far, it seems the players aren't getting the message. THAT is on the players. |
game time! please prove us all wrong booth. please. |

Oooo golden opportunity for Booth |
