That's a frustrating loss, we outplayed them all game. Sigh.

dL 11-14-2013 08:49 PM

Poor effort yet still won. Lucky.

Luuu going down early again.

Tim Budong 11-14-2013 08:51 PM

This western conference is tough

pure.life 11-14-2013 08:51 PM

Lu down way too early. He could've shuffled and taken down the angle.
Ah well. Hindsight always 20/20

Hondaracer 11-14-2013 08:52 PM

fuck weakkkkkk

Lu was down cause he was playing that front pass i think, either way shouldnt have really gotten to that point

dL 11-14-2013 08:54 PM

What goes around comes around. This effort will pay off and we will steal another game one day due to subpar performance.

TouringTeg 11-14-2013 08:55 PM

ugggghhhh Sharks got lucky to get into OT. Solid bounce back game otherwise

Tim Budong 11-14-2013 10:35 PM

The Hoff knows best..

trancehead 11-15-2013 12:33 AM

hoff is a bitch

68style 11-15-2013 07:31 AM

Man, not this can't score shit again... 3 goals in 3 games isn't going to cut it... I was at the Anaheim game too and even though we outshot them 2:1 almost there wasn't a quality scoring chance in the slot or out front, all these crappy periphery shots that never go in... So frustrating when the offence looks so ineffective!

:suspicious:

Lu isn't the problem here. The problem is, you're not going to win games with only one goal scored.

The Canucks are 11-0-1 this season in games they've scored more than one goal. They're 0-7-1 in games that they've only put one in the net. They haven't been shut out yet, which is one good sign.

But that says a lot about where the blame should lie. Not with the man between the pipes, but the 5 other guys who's job it is to get that biscuit into the other team's net.

Hondaracer 11-15-2013 09:23 AM

Nigga blame Lu! Blame Lu Lu Lu!

Same old story lol

A bad bounce..and "bad" shots lead to just 1 goal
Luongo is not to blame, he was excellent

The better team lost the game...because of a bad bounce and a borderline call.

Lu going down early...well..watch the play..that was quite the tic tac toe passing play you expect from a top team. Its plays like that which will have your goalie guessing who's gonna shoot/pass

SumAznGuy 11-15-2013 09:41 AM

Eddie Lack re-signed for 2 years.
Good, bad, or indifferent?

Yep. As a goalie, you can't assume there's going to be a "tac" pass to a third shooter, so he needed to go down for the one-timer that was there. The fact that Boyle stopped the puck put Lu in a tough spot because he was likely assuming that "toe" pass was going to be one-timed, which is why he slid over in desperation.

Game wasn't his fault by any means.

Good. He looks capable. With Lu locked in at least for this season, he gets to take a back seat learning from one of the better goalies in the league (both on and off the ice).

If Lu decided to bolt after this season for some reason or another, then at least you have Lack to hold things over either temporarily or permanently. Last time I checked, there aren't many top-flight goalies (either in the league or prospects) that teams are willing to let go.

This is how the twins do their thing too, when they are scoring. They do their cycle down low and all of a sudden a pass comes out of no where and one of them or Burr is open with an empty net to shoot at.

Not really racist! 11-15-2013 10:01 AM

1.15 AAV

1m first year, 1.3m second year

Hondaracer 11-15-2013 10:05 AM

Good deal IMO

Good! He's looked solid, his losses were more due to the team in front of him at the time than goaltending.

Also he's gold on Twitter. We need to make this a Canucks rule - our goalies have to have awesome Twitter accounts.

That's why those guys are so successful, because it's such a difficult play for a goalie. The open area of a hockey net is 24 square feet. Even Lu, who is a massive goalie can only cover half of that at best. Consider that the puck can move faster than anything else on the ice, and Bobby is at a disadvantage with a good shooter in front. Goalies almost have to see into the future, and sometimes that future is blurry.

Lu's twitter account has made me a fan of him, and twitter.
