how about Richmond IKEA?

WagonBoi 09-19-2014 11:57 AM

Not a bad spot. Silvercity in richmond wouldn't be bad

BoostedBB6 09-19-2014 11:59 AM

IKEA will kick you out real quick if the same sort of turn out and stupidity goes there. Private lot is no good.

I think the best honestly would be an industrial lot where nothing is around so no one can complain.

industrial lots are most likely monitored by security

The union would love and support us. Let them take care of security.

Fremont village in poco. It's like Byrne but the Tim's and mcds are inside walmart and they close at 11 I think.

It's basically a newly developed area with a Byrne type of setup

From another thread about the Thursday night meets, but I thought this quote should be here as well:

This is the most important point to remember.

During the summer months I spoke to bikers doing burnouts, Mustangs revving engines and only got heckled from bystanders around me. The collective community would never allow someone to walk around dripping their coffee on random cars, why it stands back and laughs at things like that V10 BMW revving every 3 feet, or bikes and mustangs doing burnouts, or even that Lambo revving its engine...I'll never understand.

I own a business doing many car-related events. We have a paid tours, and a selection of free events. There is a reason Classic Car Adventures LOVES to attend things like the Thursday night meets, but won't invite modern car culture to our free (and open) events. We're car guys, through and through. I love things like the rocket bunny body kits, JDM imports and even the stanced cars. But on the whole, the modern car culture is younger, and immature...and we can't trust they won't shut down a good thing.

That's nice and kind of you to offer, but when a bad apple comes along and causes trouble, Burnaby RCMP may likely come knocking at your shop's door. While I understand you mean well, you don't want to be liable because of one (or more) ass hat.

With close friends - sure. :hotbaby:

But inviting the general public? :heckno:

i realize that. im not allowing people to do burnouts or anything stupid. i will be reporting any stupid behavior here. the thing is that since im in a industrial area, say someone does something stupid, the cops wont be as harsh here as they are at byrne .

i know the risks and I don't mind having a meet every Thurs here :)

Akinari 09-26-2014 05:20 PM

RS regulars to ts's shop. The general troublemaking public can make do at Byrne :troll:

Qft

While at luxury supercar weekend I had the opportunity to chat with one of the people who's contributed to the burnout as I've known of him for awhile. They advised me that the one reason they do I is because they're getting people come to them advising how much they love their car and came out just to see it, can they please rev the engine. I get this, I love hearing the sound of a nice engine as well, he'll I'm always excited to hear JJs gtr when I can but when you get a group of enthusiasts pleading the owners tend to give in. I'm not condoning this, as our meets (and events like import feat and the likes) do not allow revving to occur so I wish these owners would just treat these meets with the same respect try do with the bigger events

I'm gonna do a burnout at ts14's shop...
