BUMP

So I'm going down next Friday to pick something up and for a quick day trip.

I've been down and driven to and past Seattle a bunch of times but have never used the I405 or toll bridges. Where I'm going will require me to use the 405.

Is there anything I need to know?

I know beatdownvictim a couple months back said something about the new tolls being confusing?

Ch28 04-14-2016 10:24 PM

AFAIK, Washington and BC do not have an agreement in place for tolls, so you can drive on them as much as you want and they won't be able to come after you.

beatdownvictim 04-14-2016 10:28 PM

Yeah it's fine I drove down with those express lanes in olacr just exit at the designated spots and not on the double whites and u r good
Sr520 bridge convenient to Bellevue and university village.

I switch onto the 405 from the 5 at exit 182. It's a big highway junction where the 525 turns into 405.

Is it pretty simple to navigate and easy sailing?

I'm guessing the 520 bridge is where the tolling is that you were talking about?

I know they won't charge, I'm not worried about the toll per say but rather the navigating

beatdownvictim 04-15-2016 07:46 AM

Yeah navigating south onto the 405 from I5 is fine, its the 2 right lanes and I find traffic kind of thins out after the alderwood mall exit(thats after rush hour though)

You can play it on the safe side and just take the right lanes before the alderwood mall exit?

Hit up the chickfila for me thanx!

W - T - F ???????????

Lawn fabric staples at Home Depot in Canada are 10 staples for $9.98

Lawn fabric staples at Home Depot in the US are 75 staples for $9.97

Made by the same company............ oh, the 10 pack in the US is $2.54.

Just gonna get some wire and make my own. Or wait till I go do my weekly TJ trip, LOL.

MG1 04-27-2016 09:08 PM

Just found out Lowes in Canada has a 75 pack of lawn fabric staples for $9.99

Thank god for Lowes, eh? Too bad they're so freakin' far away. Almost as far away as Bellingham, hee hee.

underscore 04-27-2016 09:48 PM

Wtf is a lawn fabric staple? Hell what is lawn fabric?

The entrance to that Lowes is one of the strangest things I've ever driven through, nice store though.

InvisibleSoul 04-28-2016 10:26 AM

1 CDN almost 0.80 USD right now.

Lawn Fabric

Lawn fabric is what you need when the Mr. Big and Tall Shop no longer carries your size.

I heard Bellis Fair mall is accepting CAD at par right now.
Is there any truth to this rumour?

It should be. You're probably referring to this:

Bellis Fair Mall Offers Canadian Dollar At Par During All Canadian Holiday Weekends in 2016 - Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism

murd0c 05-13-2016 10:16 AM

All I know is man I love having Nexus.. So happy my GF convinced me to get it!!

6o4__boi 05-13-2016 10:17 AM

interesting...though it says participating retailers only

who went during the spring long weekend? i'm curious to see who participated.

syee 05-13-2016 10:35 AM

It also says up to 25% discount. Seeing that you're paying about $1.29CDN for $1USD, the maximum 25% discount means it won't exactly be on par.

According to Bellis Fair, the only retailers participating at this time include Macy’s, JCPenny, Just Sports, Go Grill, Beauty Nails, Blooming, Piercing Pagoda, Wishes, Brow Arc, Christopher and Banks, Express Japan, Thai Go & Noodle, The Children’s Place, and Villa Pizza.

^^ Blah... that's a pathetically small number of retailers participating at the promotion.

wouldn't the lawn fabric be held in place by whatever you're putting on top of it already? rocks, wood chips, etc?

It's pretty sweet, sometimes by vehicle it's like the same if not longer than the normal line since so many people have Nexus now but that's an exception to the rule.

Flying is where it's super sick. Wife just went on 2 trips to the US and both times she was the only person using the Nexus line while the regular line people were all looking at her like dafuq!

When you're flying, make sure you enter your PassID on your NEXUS card into your traveler profile so you can use Pre-check security screening lanes. Save a ton of time over waiting in the normal lanes.

If any of you are planning on visiting Bellingham, check out the deli at Winco. Their salads are really worth it. Their Kung Pao and Orange Chicken are also good value for the money.

A quick FYI - Winco only takes cash or debit. They don't take credit. Decent prices though. A good alternative to Walmart without having to drive so far down Guide Meridian.
