Do I have to pay for a take home test if I'm told I need one?

There’s a travel certificate you need to print it or save it on your phone as proof of your vaccination for any international travel. It’s accessible on your profile on your BC Services Card app.
You don’t pay for the random test, it’s just time consuming.

Good thing they've never asked me. I've never downloaded that certificate - and I just came back from PR.
$5.899 for premium at Shell. I guess I saved $66? But I spent maxed out this month's gas budget and spent $30 more than last month.

you also have to think about how much gas you burn going down there.
I'm in coquitlam and have a truck.
when i go down i make sure my 122L tank is near empty and i take down another 120L in Jerry cans

Definitely... your time isn't free either.
I only go to pick up packages, taking the car with the least full gas tank is just a side benefit... and I live in Richmond, so it's not a big trip for me.

Remember the last gas crisis was also when our dollar was at par with the US dollar, there used to be vans driving around under the radar with huge tanks in them who would sell gas to shops and other places. Pretty hilarious... wonder if they will make a reappearance.

The federal government is expected to announce as soon as tomorrow that travellers entering Canada will no longer have to take a pre-arrival COVID-19 test, CBC News has learned.
Sources with knowledge of the matter confirm Canada is removing the testing requirements at airports and land border crossings.
Currently, travellers entering the country must show proof of a negative antigen or molecular test within a day of their flight or arrival at the border.
That testing requirement will be dropped by the end of the month, the sources said.
The move comes two years into the pandemic as travel picks up and provinces and territories ease restrictions involving vaccine passports, gatherings and masks.
The federal government will continue to randomly test travellers upon arrival in Canada to identify and track variants, the sources said. The government has been spending millions of dollars on randomly testing vaccinated travellers entering Canada.
The travel industry has been lobbying the government to ease these testing requirements. Consumers have complained that it's expensive and a hassle to find approved testing facilities abroad. Some PCR tests cost upwards of $200, while antigen testing typically costs well under $100.
Infectious diseases expert Dr. Zain Chagla told a press conference last month that since the Omicron variant had spread across Canada already, pre- and post-arrival testing is an unnecessary expense.
The government's vaccine mandate for domestic and international flights departing from Canada, for VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains and for cruise ships will remain in effect for now, sources said.
The government changed its rules for travellers entering Canada last month by requiring proof of a negative rapid-antigen test, rather than a molecular test.
As of Feb. 28, unvaccinated children under the age of 12 entering Canada no longer have to avoid going to daycares, schools or other crowded settings for two weeks.

Had a bout of food poisoning the moment I landed in Cebu on a trip awhile back. Friends all went out to enjoy the beaches and eat their hearts out. I spent about 3 days criss-crossing between the bed and toilet to release liquids from both ends. Didn't get to see a speck of sand before I had to get back on the plane.
Probiotics, never travel without em. Have had much better luck since introducing them to my diet especially since I usually have a weaker stomach.
Digressing. But yay, border openings.

I’m better already now but yea..this resort is pretty nice rooms and the pools etc. but the food is absolute trash, the first night I got here I was literally laughing out loud at the buffet.
I’d rather eat subway everyday than the lunches here. Came mainly because it was a sweet spot to bring 13 people but if my wife and I came alone I’d be ducking livid how shittt the food is. People seem to love it though but it’s legit like, I could go to any resty in Vancouver at any given time and I’d probably have a better meal

Never leave the country without it. | Totally off topic here but this is not the best advice. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and should only be taken if you have a bacterial infection. Otherwise taking antibiotics unnecessarily is a bad thing generally to do.

Went down to Bellingham today. $4.29 a gallon for premium at Costco. Saw a first gen blue ISF with BC plates at the gas bar YOHB?
Waved through after showing my positive PCR test from December. Really wish I started going earlier.
