One of the best clues I've seen is the poster for this show.

Spoiler!

Great attention to detail in this show. It's so much fun trying to figure it out. There are great arguments for several characters but things that also point to them not being the Yellow King as well.

Also, about the man with the scars...

Spoiler!

The attention to detail is amazing in this show. I have no idea if this will tie into the ending, but did anyone else catch the convo between Maggie and Marty? Relating back to my last post in the thread, seems like one of their daughters have mental issues and visited the same mental hospital Rust investigated. Also, shes an artist now too. It's even more mind blowing how detailed this show is if it doesn't have anything to do with the ending.

EDIT: Mind = blown. Its the same daughter that drew those sexual pictures isn't it. JESUS!!! So much sense in something so insignificant (possibly).

EDITEDIT: I'd like to add that I read an article that pizzolatto retweeted with a theory that this show isn't convoluted and all the clues were there from the beginning. This last episode basically confirmed that for me. But that's what is great about this show. Even with a generic ending, I would leave happy.

They replace em with new actors, that's the appeal to big names because they're not attached indefinitely. And it's intriguing to drum up new pairings, as people have done on the interwebs

Ronin 03-04-2014 07:59 PM

I LOVE that concept...that new actors are cast every season (who knows how many seasons but probably 3...not more than 5) because it keeps the story fresh.

If anyone watched S1 of The Killing and remembers how pissed they were at the ending/cliffhanger...this is pretty much the exact opposite. Love it. 8 tight episodes...no bullshit, all excitement.

Finally caught up to the recent episode, and man, this show is a master piece. The writing and acting is fantastic.

Cool little site that recaps all the characters and ongoing things, worthy of a look.

That house and the tunnels/fort was so well done up.

Spooky crap.

Super satisfied with this show. Almost perfect.

strykn 03-09-2014 08:34 PM

Mathews performance during the end... wow.

Amazing

rsx 03-10-2014 03:58 AM

I have a feeling the next one is going to be in New York with a woman protagonist.

iwantaskyline 03-10-2014 09:42 AM

^hell no to the women progtagonist

radioman 03-10-2014 10:19 AM

The way they treated woman in this show I could see something like that happening.

But I don't think I'd like to see it.

KingDeeCee 03-10-2014 12:00 PM

Can't wait for someone to compile all the insane details of this show. I want to see what I missed out on.

sonick 03-10-2014 07:58 PM

Man, the tensions were at 11 the entire first half of the finale.

That set design is outstanding.

Question:

Spoiler!

How did you come up with that? It's a pretty good guess; the writer said this re: season 2 in an interview after the finale:

Quote:

I am still fleshing it out. The basic idea: Hard women, bad men, and the secret occult history of the U.S. transportation system. I was well on my way in the writing but there’s been a lot noise and work around the end of the first season that got in the way.

Sir_Loin 03-10-2014 08:35 PM

I hope they keep doing what they're doing. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. All 11 episodes of season 1 were written by Nic Pizzolatto and all 11 were directed by the same director Cary Fukunaga. It showed consistency in the written and visual aspects of the show.

radioman 03-10-2014 08:37 PM

:ahwow: there was 3 episodes I didn't see???
