:fuckthatshit: It sucks that our sale prices in 2016 are equal to regular prices back in 2014. It upsets me that I never bought a Kriss Vector back when they were sale priced at $1500. |

I'm not an AR guy, but if I ever get into the black guns, I want this lower. http://i67.tinypic.com/2wq7t36.jpg |
The AR platform is just so awesome. It really is made to be customized. https://www.tombstonetactical.com/im...10-1-large.jpg Call me tacky, but I love these lowers. :awwyeah: |
I caved - went the whole year without any new hardware, but have been wanting a 1911 like you wouldn't believe. I've never shot one before - so I'm jumping right into the deep end. Prophet is running their year-end sale again: 10% off everything in-stock, no tax, free shipping. **sigh** Ordered a new Remington R1 Carry Commander Crimson Trace with 5 mags. http://www.1911r1.com/Products/Firea...son-Trace.aspx http://www.1911r1.com/~/media/C6A83A...1C2.ashx?w=570 |
once you go 1911 you wont go back. they're just too damn comfortable with a nice calibre bullet. i have a few 10 round mags that i use with my ruger sr1911 which feed very nicely. felt the need for a new boom stick. remington 870 police magnum with 2 shot factory extension. magpul fore-end and stock. s&j type 2 no jam follower, upgraded mag tube spring, s&j over sized safety. xs rifle sights. etc https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...af&oe=58B501F6 going to add a mesa tactical tube clamp with rail for a light plus magpul hooks front and rear for a ms3 sling. |

Nice setup. My 14 inch 870 has a very similar setup. I suggest adding a rail/light to the fore-end though, this way, you can activate the light whenever you want (when the fore-end is racked either forward or back). Also adding a light to the clamp requires you to take your hand off the fore-end (unless you have super long arms) to switch on and off. In terms of tactical-operator-ninja- ness(lol) that is a no no. haha |
Managed to hit Italian this morning for their December sale and walked out over $2k lighter than when I walked in. I now have .22LR and .45ACP ammo to last a while, plus I also picked a Magnum gong for $99 and an automated shooting gallery target for $175 that my kids are going to love (and I think I will, too) https://www.amazon.ca/Caldwell-22337.../dp/B005CF1TMG https://www.amazon.ca/Caldwell-55897.../dp/B00162PRQI |

i feel as though if i have the flashlight mounted on the foreend there will be too much movement of the light while working the action where as if i have it on a fixed position on the tube clamp it'll stay on target while i work the action. i'll try it out and report my findings. |
4 Attachment(s) Managed to get to the range and after realizing that my new 1911 shoots at the 6 o'clock sighting and not target sighting like all my other hand guns, I was able to get down to having fun shooting it. I quite like the CT grips. These targets were set at 10 metres and I stood another metre back from the line to keep my brass from flying into the snow. |

Well my buddies Weatherby PA-459 finally followed me home, I really like that it breaks down without any tools. Unfortunately this means that it's been less than a year and already my storage is beyond its comfortable capacity. |

I'm heading out shooting tomorrow - I'm going to pump some more .45s down range. I'm liking this semi-auto thing. |
I told you semi auto was a blast!! #punintended :troll: |
Managed to hit the range again today with a friend of mine - we had the whole range to ourselves all day. Managed another 200 rounds down the .45 - I'm really liking it. Where has Ryan been lately? |
We need a tag function on RS. #incubus @incubus |

I decided to do a complete tear-down today of my new 1911 and see how this thing works. God bless Youtube. I polished the barrel, cleaned up all the internals, polished the trigger bar, polished the sides of the sear, and polished the disconnector so now my trigger pull is a crisp 3.25 lbs. I'm impressed how easy it is to work on these and I'm sure with a little more research, it would be easy to get this down to a 3# trigger. I also noticed that my front sight is a Trijicon sight and not a Novak tritium as they advertise. Not sure why that is, but I like it when sighting. |

I got a little freaked out when I started digging deeper into my 1911-22. As much as I would love to have a 3# trigger, I wouldn't want to mess it up. That said, I would probably shoot it a lot more. Plinking with rimfire is so much fun, and easy on the wallet. Not like this beast..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psjkwqwrc5.jpg My brother and I took pops to the indoor in Langley for his b'day. As Ryan can attest to, I've been talking about the Desert Eagle for a while now, but I've never had the opportunity to shoot one. This is the Desert Eagle 50cal next to my Jericho 951, aka the baby eagle. It is a baby next to the hand cannon. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psqtiqvbqj.jpg A little nervous, as it's a huge gun. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...psnoldhxxb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pstzr8v22y.jpg That wasn't bad at all..... SeemsGood We also rented the 50 BMG to see what that was like. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps9dgzlikv.jpg When you pulled the trigger, the gases that are released are so strong, it's like a punch in the face. At $15/rd for the 50 BMG, I probably won't be shooting that one again. But the Desert Eagle still has a hold on me. I may keep my eyes open for a good deal on one of those. PS: I also shot the Mosin Nagant in the 50bmg picture. That is a precise piece of history right there, and a nice gun to shoot. |
|
Steve - skip the .50cal for now and pick one of these up, I ordered one: Citadel 1911-A1 45 ACP | Sylvestre Sporting Goods Couldn't find a bad review, made by Armscor - who also makes Rock Island and Tanfoglio Witness 1911s. So, 1911 #2 is on its way - it was an expensive December! |
The scope on that 50 is fantastic. |

I love the feel of a 1911. How it fits the hand, and how they shoot. The 1911 really is a great chassis. That said, I am apparently all talk. My brother who has dual income, and no kids found me a nice desert eagle for sale in Victoria. But once I started thinking of all the other great things I could spend $2k on, the idea of owning a 50 cal wasn't as exciting. As a member, it doesn't cost me anything to rent the gun. So I figured that would be my best bet going into the future. BabyRage Quote:
:lol Quote:
Kappa All I know is that at $20/shot, it would cost me a fortune to sight the rifle in. Let alone start shooting it for fun, lmao! |
yea in Vegas is was $18 per .50 on top of the rental lol :S i shot two rounds and that was enough for me, although i'd definately shoot it again if i went just to be "that guy" funny in a room full of 15-20 ppl shooting and they start yelling out "50 in the hole!" and everyone stands back to watch lol |
:lol it's like being a celebrity when they make that call. Now the pressure is on, hahaha! |
My new 1911 showed up today - this thing is tight and a good buy at $450. My wife saw me cleaning it and asked if 'these things are going to start multiplying now' with a nice smile. She knows me too well. |
