Wagon tax

But I would deduct for not having the sport seats.

snowfarmer 06-26-2021 12:34 PM

yup wagon tax, and those non-sport seats are sensatec, you can tell by the cracks in the drivers bolster, all sensatec seats do that. E90's pop up often enough at the wrecker that an interior swap with Dakota leather sport seats would be reasonably easy.

i'd 2 tone it - w black m3 front seats and black rears.

that's very tempting, and very local

Agreed AND there's an M3 interior available right now, this M3 interior is spendy but it's pretty nice IMO, M3 Novillo leather is a step up from the Dakota leather in lesser BMW's.

made him a decent offer which he declined - then the ad disappeared almost right away. He did seem like he really wanted to keep it - maybe showing it motivated him to do so.

Lexus IS F with a bit of high mileage

Thanks for the share! I can speak a bit more to the car - was traded into us by a mature owner on a 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro. One of my best friends is service manager at Richmond Lexus but she still rang us up for $4k of work. Oh well, we figured the car should be 100% before selling it.

The interesting thing about the IS-F is in spite of the mileage, the car still feels incredibly tight and strong. It is my first time driving one but I totally understand the fanfare now.

Anyways, we have been progressively dropping the price as we do with anything that sits with us for a couple of weeks and we are close to closing on it.

The real reason this car hasn't sold is that it's a 2008 and it can't be financed. However, we expect it to go soon and I will miss having it around the showroom.

Kev

167k for a 13 year old car is considered high mileage?

Well, you can look at it as a Total (sum) or spread it over X years. Is 500,000km high milage if the car is 500,000 years old? That's only 1 a year.

Even if you don't think 163k is a lot, lots of stuff don't give a damn how miles it has on it, time kills rubbers, seals, bushings...

I don't know....gut feeling is raising a few flags

Newer plates
Honda paper floor cover
It's a US car
"Brand new" paint job, but on the invoice it indicates there a claim on it for vandalism, so you can interpret that in a few ways
Piss stain on driver seat

It's a hard pass on this car, just my honest opinion

157k miles at that too. And a $4500 paintjob doesn't inspire confidence either :lol

This one would be a better buy for me.
PROS:
Canadian model
Less than 200kms
5 speed manual swap (does not mention if it's the w55/58 or r154)
T-belt and water pump done in the last 60kms
New clutch/flywheel

CONS:
VI-bait
20 year old inline-6 isn't exactly state of the art or fuel efficient (requires premium grade fuel)

Doesn't bother you that the side of the car is 2 different shades of grey?

$17,000????? And that's without the nice wheels. What a ripoff. The SportCross isn't a good deal either... both of these cars are bad buys, but the SportCross is better because at least it's pretty much stock and you won't lose much money on it.

I have 2 IS300's (one automatic and one 5spd), I don't run them on premium and haven't done so for 10 years lol... doesn't require it. Maybe if you want all 215 ponies but it's not a race car, it's just adequate and anytime I have run premium here and there solely because the sticker on the gas cap made me feel guilty I cannot tell the difference at all.
