Finally recession? And no one is paying you $8000 for a gen 1 CRV RAv 4

jing 11-02-2025 11:02 AM

510s ended in the early 70s.. that's an 810 according to Google

whitev70r 11-02-2025 08:12 PM

For what it is, a 10 yr old AWD/4motion, fun Winter DD, clean (not rebuilt) with no accident claimed, 159K kms (avg), I present to you, a 2016 Golf R for $21.9K. Yes, I know Mk7.5 is better but I have not seen a 2016 Golf R for this low price listed that isn't rebuilt.

I've noticed prices of used cars are definitely going down in the last few months.

68style 11-03-2025 07:00 AM

Dumped my Supra just in time lol… still took a hit considering bought new with BC luxury tax but just keeping it through the summer would have probably cost me another $10k

Gerbs 11-03-2025 11:25 AM

$10K for 2 year ownership is not bad, cheaper than lease!

JDMDreams 11-03-2025 12:22 PM

Tesla is doing 2.99% 60 mth on model y, drove by dueck today and they had tonnes of signs for 0% financing, why would you buy used

I wish, I ate $13k selling it after 14 months ($83k taxes and delivery and paperwork fees in, sold for $70k) but it’s lost another ~$10k just since May if I was a betting man

Gerbs 11-03-2025 03:56 PM

Thank god I didn't buy one in 2021 lol

Why get rid of it so quickly?

68style 11-03-2025 04:49 PM

TLDR is that I had three different 2 door rear wheel drive cars, only useful like 6-7 months of the year in Calgary and it didn't do anything for me, just felt like a surgical tool... I didn't even miss it for 1 day after I sold it and rarely ever think about it. Nothing really wrong with the car I guess, just didn't end up being my thing. I also took a look at the market and general apathy toward the model as it came to a close and thought to myself it was now or never.

covid made people forget borrowing money was basically free.

covid made people forget new cars depreciate when you drive them off the lot.

IT'S 2019 AGAIN BABY

Has anyone driven or owned these?
Is the shifter and steering feel any good?
I'm high bid right now

Seems reliable because it's a Duratec V6 * 2, manual trans.
Tops seem to need replacement but you can glue the rear glass back.

Gerbs 11-03-2025 05:32 PM

It really did, still rolling in pain from the Veloster N depreciation. Been gaslighting myself there's no better car money can buy than a S2000 + Veloster N

68style 11-04-2025 12:38 PM

Yah I never owned a new car for like 25 years before the Supra, always refused to pay the premium and deal with the immediate depreciation, so I can't complain and I was under no pretense it wouldn't end up being one of the only cars I've ever lost money on in my life lol

I washed my car the other day next to an older fellow with a Veloster N, went outside to dry (friggin hard water here water spots up in like 10 seconds if you don't get rid of it) next to him and chatted him up about his car, he was so happy someone knew what it was and so proud of it lol... it's definitely the coolest of the N products.

I don't think you can go wrong, DB9 and V8 Vantage are undervalued right now and pretty low maintenance. Parts are really, really, really expensive though.

It's a bit of a misconception that the engine is just 2 Duratecs together, they have totally different casting materials and casting shapes/construction from block through head.

It would be nice if this one had a little bit more mileage on it, depending where it spent its life they don't like to sit. Dry climate could be pretty harsh even if stored indoor if there was no humidity control.

JDMDreams 11-04-2025 03:05 PM

Yea apparently am rapes you for parts, I wonder how much Ford parts you can replace it with. But if you get the mt it should be pretty reliable, besides electronics and interior bits. I wonder where the mt box came from?

I THINK a gran tourismo will be cheaper? At bare minimum 4 less spark plugs, less oil and gas. But depends if you like the v8 sound or mt v12 more. But I think you need to do more exhaust work to get a good v12 sound which I assume is $$ cuz am bespoke parts.

68style 11-04-2025 05:07 PM

It's a Graziano manual box, they've made a lot of transmissions for Lambo and Audi etc as well as most of the AM's

A Gran Turismo is going to have way heavier operating costs than almost any AM of the 06-15 era.

velocityap.com is the place to go for the best aftermarket parts... be it making the manual more drivable in every day traffic or epic sounding exhaust or computer reprogramming.

RC-F 42k. That’s pretty good right? Right? I dont even know anymore.

radeonboy 11-05-2025 03:56 PM

It's high mileage and imagine it had a pretty rough prior life based on the mods.

It would be an okay deal if the car was stock..

JDMDreams 11-05-2025 04:47 PM

Yea there's been a few rcfs popping up lately, still no gsf doe
