Not to mention if the car is abandoned or used illegally you can be on the hook as well. Always go with the buyer to ensure the transfer is completed and that you have your copy of the paperwork.

It's a stupid system too, they don't ask for ID of the seller, all it takes is one signature.

Read the fine print on your papers and it says sign the registration when you sell the vehicle. All but one insurance agents I have seen don't follow this procedure.

it's collector's item in Surrey because it would be impossible to find an unmolested example in Surrey...

$1000 for a GSR with a brand new top end but that needs rings.

Not a bad deal for the mechanically inclined.

1997 Acura Integra GSR

$8600 for an ITR - B18c5, 165k kms, but modified to specific tastes.

Saab 900 5-spd

1993 SAAB 900S 16-valve, 5-speed manual.

Seats look like they've been swapped. They don't match the door cards. Also it's N/A.

Original Acura ITR DC2 Type R 98

I'm sure it came up before, but is there some kind of bad history for that type r? Thanks

RevYouUp 02-07-2015 12:16 AM

That itr belonged to jmanhas and hondacrv on here. Not sure why no ones buying it since it does come with goodies.

jmanhas 02-07-2015 06:20 AM

The Type R was a great car and came with a lot of goodies!
only downside of this car was that it's been through a lot of owners ( i was 5th or 6th) and its not original championship white. The engine bay is still white, but everywhere else is painted montecarlo blue. Before i sold the car, I had it detailed at Project Detail and it really brought the paint back to life.

I heard the current owner of the car got hit and run in the front, that destroyed the mugen front bumper, and replaced it with an OEM jdm front bumper (looks cleaner now imo). Apparently he also blew the engine that came with the car, and swapped in a new one, not sure if this is 100% true.

TouringTeg 02-07-2015 06:41 AM

With a clean title thats a great deal for a driver ITR

thumper 02-07-2015 07:25 AM

is the only blue type r locally? if yes, then i remember this car when it was new when the original owner used to go to a&j racing.

Now he wants $11,000, I guess the $9800 offer has been thrown to the ocean.

Spoiler!

This link is worth clicking on just for that 1 picture in front of the house with a notchback Saab, Porsche 911 and Rolls Royce in it hahaha I'd love to hear the story behind that car meet or wonder if he owns all of them. Very eclectic.

I think that's Brianriatta's old car. From what I remember, it either blew a few exhaust valves or a timing belt, sat for a while, then his buddy bought it and fixed the top end. I guess the bottom end is toast now. AFAIK, any OBD2, B18B shortblock will work but will yield slightly lower compression. Still a pretty good deal if the rest of the car is in good shape.

I'm really tempted to give this guy a call but then again I am starting to be like Tofu with the number of cars that I have and am going to go look at.
I am still trying to look at a few ITR's and there is still Tofu's CRX that I haven't had time to work on.

If the GSR was a 98 body style I'd definately be all over it like a fat kid on sugar.

fliptuner 02-07-2015 09:07 AM

PM Brianriatta for the scoop on the rest of the car. I remember him saying the front got sandblasted from a lot of highway driving. There's a lot of directions you could take that thing but if you don't have time to DIY, shop labour might not make it worth it.

Are you planning on turning the EF into a track slut/weekender or getting something else for that?

I had a line on some 13x8.5 Panasports and was gonna do a light weight track build.
But we had some mis-communications and he sold the wheels so then I was going to go with ITR/Mini brakes and do a big motor swap.

But now I just picked up a set of 13x7 Revolutions from another friend so I am going back to the weight reduction track build.
My biggest problem is with every passing day that I sit on my ass and not order any parts, the CDN drops so my cost in parts go up. =(

The body has the usual rust spots so it's not worth fixing when it is much cheaper to pick up a rust free body from Texas.
But with the rust, it makes for a much lighter car. =P

fliptuner 02-07-2015 10:01 AM

Bah, for a weekend/track car, the body's fine. For the cost of buying a clean, SW USA, shell, travel, importing, etc, you can just get the body fixed here.

That's if he replies you, previous pages you can read my experience with this guy. One of the worse sellers I've ever met.(Or I mean tried to meet)

As much as I dislike the seller though, I'm not the one continuously flagging jus'sayin' LOL
