It usually takes me the first session to come to grips with the car. The tires need at least 1.5 laps to warm up, and then I need to get off to adjust my tire pressures. |

Can't fix everything at once, but one of my first driving coach's basically got me to me to focus on max of 3 things to change/practice at a time. what you don't see is the 100's of events/1000's of laps behind someone else's experience as they come out guns blazing, they all started where you are. |
Anyone do a 7 day trip down to the states to hit up a bunch of tracks over summer? Havent looked into it, figure drive one day, track next, repeat till you get home Could go sit on a beach and do nothing for a week in mexico for 3 grand Or you could go abuse your car for a week straight for the "same" kind of money is my logic |

Went to VIMC over the weekend on Sunday. My friend had fixed a couple issues with the car when I last drove it in May. Earlier in the morning already did a 1:18.1 but knowing there was time on the table still. Decided to chase for the sub 1:18 and got a 1:17.77 |
Anyone going to mission sept 5 day / sept 17 night? Il be there both days if anyone wants to talk shit |

Double check if PCH is still closed at Big Sur |

We can tow each other if one of us breaks down :fuckyea: End of season update, did mission two more times. Two weeks ago just straight up butchered all my laps Yesterday chewed off a whopping 0.1 seconds from my record two months ago. Also got to drive when it was fully dark on track, that was awesome. |
‘We’re dying’: Highway 1 in Big Sur closure to continue through winter https://www.sfgate.com/centralcoast/...g-21063911.php Wait until 2026 Spring/Summer. In the meantime, churn Hyatt credit cards and points so that you can book this spot: https://www.hyatt.com/alila-hotels-a...entana-big-sur If you golf, get a tee time at Pebble Beach, drive 17 mile drive at sunset. Check back in late January and make a booking for the hot springs so that you don't have to sneak in at like 2AM like I did: https://www.gallowaykitetrail.com/ta...a-hot-springs/ Be REALLY REALLY REALLY careful in Monterrey county, that court does NOT play with traffic tickets. Many CA traffic lawyers do NOT take cases in that county. |
We don't have a Hyatt CC in Canada so we can't :( |
I'll exchange Hyatt points for AA points |
AA points are also hard to get in Canada, where do you think we live, the US??? Hahah |
Fine, MBNA Alaska points for Hyatt points |
That card is also dead. We’re really screwed in Canada |
We need to get you guys ITINs |
How to get, lah~! |
Got a chance to try R34 GT-R at VIMC last weekend. Definitely not what I expected in handling from what would expect from games like Gran Turismo or Assetto Corsa. |
What did you not expect? Watching the video I didn't expect you to basically neutral steer and a bit of counter through turn 3, I kind of expected the R34 to be more understeer. What was done to the car? |
Ah that would have been cool to see. I paid for a spot in that weekend but for some reason thought it was on Sunday. I probably could have even made it still except for the second time in eight years my kids let me sleep past 7am. :/ Oh well, at least it was a cheap day. |

During my last change to track pads, my car had "bent rotor" syndrome on low braking, when you hit the brakes, it would feel like the stop/go/stop/go every revolution. It didnt make any sense because my street pads literally 30 minutes before did not have this. Anyways, did 2 track days, blamed it on the rotors. Today i changed the pads back to street pads. The warped rotor feeling is gone, even braking at high and low speed. Someone riddle me how track pads would cause this? Next up: why are my rotors getting eaten up on closer to center layer? You can see the slots are gone on the right rotor, and half gone on left rotor. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a940588d_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9dcb6628_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...2df65589_b.jpg Lastly: how much rotor life do you think i have from the above "heat checks?" The rotors looked nearly the same 2 track days ago. I have new rotors on standby during track days. Fourthly: carbotech xp10 and xp12 pads are dead to me. They got used up in 2 track days at mission. Meanwhile EBC SR-11 pads have held up to 2 abusive mission days, and they are not even 50% worn. 5th'ly: only chewed off 0.1 seconds from mission 2 months ago :okay: |
Have you checked if the pads are tapering weirdly? That might explain why the inside of the rotor is getting worn first. |

The thing is, the 2 pistons are positioned centered, its not like its pushing top/bottom. Ive also had to grind down the inner edge on all new pads by a little before install, otherwise they always took a fair amount of time before the pad had 100% contact. (Due to rotor previous rotor wear) I wonder if im bleeding the calipers improperly causing the above. Or its just track dependent |
Maybe caliper is flexing into a slight V shape under hard braking? |
