I, for one, hope Edler proves all the naysayers wrong. He had a shitty season trying to learn Torts' system, which apparently didn't work for anyone. Pretty much top to bottom, with very few exceptions, nothing but regress.

I'm optimistic for a bounce back season before writing him off, as well as many others for that matter. Again, new coach, new system with a learning curve. I may withhold judgement on a lot of players at the end of 2015.. patience is key for Canuck fans. If you're impatient, you'll only drive yourself nuts. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Benning just said that he will discuss NTCs with current players to see what they want to do. That was mentioned in his various introductory addresses.

More recently, TL said on multiple occasions (most notably with Team 1040) that he won't ask Edler to waive his for a trade. He believes that he can get Edler back to where he was in 2011 (and better, I guess).

If Stevens is part of the coaching mix, then it's a good bet that TL knows what he's talking about.

Him and Edler are like best friends, they have each other over for dinner all the time, families do things together etc. Edler is starting a family here in Vancouver with a well established home and close friends. No way Trevor is gonna ask him to waive the NTC

things happen quick and from the sounds of Benning hes ruthless and will trade anyone if its the right move. Linden is just a pawn the face of the Canucks remember so he really doesn't have a say with what happens behind the doors.

I'm lost with the last 2 posts, but FLA has a bit more young talent than the Canucks. With Lu back there to at least shave off a goal against every game, they can at least make a run for the playoffs next season. If they were to add Eckblad/Reinhart, then they'd make a good case for second-best young team to watch (after the Avs).
