Yes only Leaf fans do that. No other fan base or media group in any other sport has gushed at the idea of a homegrown star, one who hasn't outright said "NO", in possibly coming home. Nope, just the Leafs. I know I certainly never heard the local media or fans around here discussing players like Joe Sakic, Paul Kariya, Shea Weber, etc coming home on the flimsiest of statements lol. And you know that they weren't getting excited over the words you put in quotations.
lol. But you have people here who take an obvious attempt at sarcasm, with an obvious photoshopped image and a ridiculous scenario where Bozak is placed ahead of Stamkos on the depth chart and take it as serious so I don't know.

Phaneuf deal I'm fine with considering the role he has on the team, the minutes he logs, having to play on his off side, etc. Over time, with the cap going up and players of a similar/lesser calibre earn as much or more , his contract gets easier to take.

trancehead 07-24-2014 11:45 AM

lol relax Bouncing Bettys

you are posting in a Vancouver dominated board. what else do you expect? for everyone to cheer you and the leafs on? just prepare to be trolled

everyother non-local fan posting on a local fan board i am pretty sure gets about the same treatment

He's injured ... No point in signing him until he can actually play and prove he has at least an outside chance of getting a look when the NHL season kicks off.

highfive 07-24-2014 04:18 PM

^True... I'm actually pretty excited to see how these prospects pan out over the next few years. Virtanen, McCann, Horvat, Shinkaruak, Cassels, Gaunce, Jensen.

Who takes a goalie that isn't good enough to be a starter and is too expensive to be a backup, though?

Obviously a team that thinks hes a better option then what they currently have. My bet is Winnipeg.

Pavelec isn't good, but who do you offload that shitty contract on?

Also, is Reimer any better? Short spurts, sure, but he hasn't been able to keep it up over long stretches ...

Gh0stRider 07-25-2014 05:20 PM

F**k you Canucks management

So everybody knows the Vancouver Canucks are a awful hockey team. No biggie, but what disturbs me most is the management that runs this so called white wash franchise. Not only does the billionaire aquilini own the prostitute organization he controls it under his own will not giving a shit about the hockey fans in Vancouver. How do I know this you might ask well go look around every face that works in that company. Bull shit liers hand me downs two faced sons of bithces. Now not everybody is like this per say but honestly would you like to pay money for a shitty organization who have pretty much have sucked money from people's pockets ever since gm place opened, oh sorry Rogers arena. And isisnt it a little obvious that the name changed. I wonder why. Anyways real American hockey fans have been treated fairly for the most part there owner has reduced ticket sales and given fans a better chance to interact with players. I'm not talking about open practices. besides who's the one to point the finger at the self obsessed billionaire himself aquilini. Not only did his wife leave him but hockey sales will continue drop until he drops ticket fare prices down. When will he learn that money isint everything. I rather support a hockey team that cares about its fans than a bunch of bullishit that comes with sponsoring a mediocore team.

Rabble rabble rabble

Ronin 07-25-2014 06:32 PM

Supply and demand.

No one wants to watch hockey in the States so you can get Panther's season tickets, a jersey and a handjob from their President of Hockey Operations (and Handjobs) for a couple hundred bucks.

Everyone wants to watch hockey in Canada so you have to sell your organs and children to get a seat.

It's not personal, it's just business. I wouldn't do business any different than Aquaman so I can't hate. Maybe I wouldn't steer towards PR shitstorms like he does but still, business is business. The Canucks aren't a charity.

willystyle 07-25-2014 08:08 PM

Just another grumpy fan that can't afford hockey tickets and thinks taking his anger out on Craigslist will help progress his agenda.

Hockey is like NFL in Seattle, wherever a sport is #1 in that city, it will cost an arm and a leg watch live.

He should go watch the Lions play instead, they've won a Grey Cup. :lawl:

punkwax 07-25-2014 08:16 PM

If you're going to rant and expect to be taken seriously, at least use proper grammar.

411ken 07-25-2014 08:59 PM

Can't afford to watch live. Watch at home in HD. Unless that guy complaining only has SD then shit lol

Plus I've seen upper bowl tickets nowadays for 100$ a pair. Sure it's not as low as other US teams but it is what it is. I personally will never pay 400 a pair of lower bowl regular season tickets. I'd rather fly to Vegas lol.

SkinnyPupp 07-25-2014 09:10 PM

I used to buy single seats for really cheap, and this was during the main WCE hype days. Usually in the lower bowl... Fun times! Do they still do that?

AzNightmare 07-25-2014 09:23 PM

Still would watch HD hockey at home over live anyday. But I'm just strange.
Last time I bought a Canuck merchandise was when Canucks was up 2-0 in the SCF.

Must have jinxed it. So :fuckthatshit:

Jmac 07-25-2014 09:33 PM

I'll be going to at least 4 games this year ... Hopefully Canucks Fantasy Hockey will have tickets within the same season again like they did several years back ... Would love to go to more ...

I don't live on the Mainland anymore, so even the tickets I win end up costing me hundreds of dollars ... No way am I paying on top of that ...

Ronin 07-25-2014 09:56 PM

I went to the crazy Bruins game where we scored like 8 goals. Best regular season game I've ever seen. A guy that we met on the skytrain scored tickets at the last minute for $40 and he just missed 10 minutes of the 1st.

And this was a Bruins game so I'm guessing you can get last minute tickets for $20 to Edmonton or something. That seems like a pretty economical way to see the game. Can't get tickets? Well, better luck next time...drop in one of the zillion sport bars around there.

A lot of people feel that way, I'd much rather watch hockey at home then in the arena as well. The only exception would be the playoffs, the atmosphere during playoff time is something awesome to take in and it does add to the experience of being at the game.
