I remember skipping high school classes (usually on Fridays) with some friends to 'go green' in my friend's windowless van we called 'The Hot Box'.

I had a Discman with the car adapter kit. Would blast STP and enjoy my free time with my bud buds.

Anyone remember this book from their childhood:

It was quite the twist-ending, IIRC.

SkinnyPupp 12-07-2015 12:22 AM

Totally forgot about these, I had Mickey and the Giant at least, not sure which others

Regardless of how the perception of Christmas has changed over the years, we can't ignore the specials we watched as kids

BONUS!

Spoiler!

With Seaworld's announcement of eliminating their whale breeding program, I couldn't help but remember a little place in Victoria called Sealand. I went there many times in my youth, not realizing what type of place it actually was.

To top that off, I might as well show what I still own. Not sure if for reminder or because it actually keeps my drinks cold.

Just noticed the whale in that logo looks sad

:okay:

:okay:

Tilikum was one of the whales at Sealand later it was moved to Seaworld Florida. it has killed 3 people including one trainer in Victoria. It's literally a killer whale.

The cartridges are loaded with 8mm film stock. You load them in and look through the viewers and wind them through manually. I remember playing around with them, making them reverse, etc

As I remember TV shows that I loved as a kid, I've been trying to track them down to make sure I have copies for when I have kids. They might not like them as much as I did, but I figure it's worth a shot.

SkinnyPupp 03-18-2016 08:11 AM

Growing up, I liked plenty of shows from the 60's and 70's. Give it a shot, as long as they're from the mid 90's or earlier they should be solid. Anything after that though... DansGame... I feel sorry for anyone who grew up after us

murd0c 03-18-2016 08:33 AM

I so had one of these kits when I was a kid and forgot about it until now

One of my favorites to watch growing up in the 80's was a show from the 60's, Bonanza reruns.

When I was really young it was mostly late 80's/early 90's cartoons, then when I got older and DejaView (or whatever the channel was) started up I watched a ton of old stuff like Gilligans Island and M*A*S*H. We got the Gilligans Island box set and for a while we forgot our TV was in colour because all we watched was Gilligans Island :lol

GLOW 03-18-2016 10:29 AM

gilligan's island was one of my all time favs. when my oldest asks me to tell him a story i sing or speak slowly the opening theme song to it :lol

Berzerker 03-18-2016 10:49 AM

I used to love my Green Machine

The one in my day had a solid plastic front wheel and wasn't free spinning like the new ones. So to stop you just held your feet and that caused a huge flat spot where the wheel would skid and wear down :(

Berz out.

Do any of you remember when McDonalds used to deep fry their apple pies? Don't know when it happened, but some dickface decided to change those great pies to being baked, not fried. Yeah, it's healthier, but damn it to hell.

fliptuner 06-11-2016 10:54 PM

Go to Church's or A&W for fried pies.
