If you're not going to put them on when it snows, why do you have snow tires?

trollface 12-06-2021 10:29 AM

Wait, people here actually use their tires? Not just take pics of them? What about resell value?

i'd hardly call the current little snowfall considerable enough to warrant snow tires on an AWD SUV when 90% of the city is running all seasons quite adequately - its called driving with due care.

its the dumbasses with bald or summer tires u should be whining to.

westopher 12-06-2021 11:01 AM

Lol yeah because thats how people drive in the GVRD. "With due care"

trollface 12-06-2021 11:09 AM

That's how we got the lowest insurance rates in Canada. Lots of care, and a teas spoon of due.

what part of 'working from home' with 'minimal driving' do you not understand?

look out the window, streets are clear - no at fault accidents EVER over 30years of driving...so dont' really care about your definition of people in the GVRD.

$1395 for the year - full ICBC coverage - i'm quite fine with that amount vs few years back when it was close to 2k

I don't know or care where you work from. This isn't directed to your current situation. What part of that don't you understand?

trollface 12-06-2021 11:16 AM

That's after actual govt intervention because ICBC was bleeding out of a prolapsed anus after centuries of merciless ravaging, even though everyone was paying 2k+ and had a monopoly on the market.

Claims and driving have not gotten any better, you just can't sue someone back to the Ming Dynasty with "neck pains" anymore.

Winters are good for low temp anyways, doesn't have to be snow.

I think this applies to winter tires in Dec.

then dont comment on my posts when u bring nothing to the thread....since u did quote my post in some way. if you can't grasp the bit of sarcasm in my posts, maybe u need to adopt a sense of humour and get past your obsession with me and my winter tires

westopher 12-06-2021 11:27 AM

I literally have no fucking idea who you are or what your deal is with winter tires.
I just made a statement that drivers in Vancouver are mostly idiots.

Yeah well consider it because you seem like you’d need a little extra effort to get the message to sink in.

nah...more like a comparison of maturity levels... but i get it.

320icar 12-06-2021 12:02 PM

My thoughts are, why have winter tires and not use them. You paid for them and they do age.

because:

A) i've got my own garage and tools to put them on at any point in time
B) I don't drive much lately and so far this so-called dumping isn't end of the world for city driving
C) because i'm lazy lately - last i checked, i'm allowed to be lazy

Watch it with the profanity. Very immature.

^^^ you still on this? got nothing better to do right? OK ...got it.

pastarocket 12-06-2021 12:44 PM

....Anyways, -back to discussion about winter tires.

It was a very busy day for some mechanics on Sunday.

Although I changed my all seasons to winter tires on Sunday, I went to my local mechanic to use his tire pump because he does not charge me for use. He does my oil change and other maintenance for me.

The mechanic said that he and his business partner were very busy with winter tire installation on Sunday. They installed winter tires for 36 cars. Thirty six customers! He opened his shop yesterday instead of closing his business usually on Sundays because he thought that the business would be great for him and his partner.

That mechanic charges 40 bucks to install two winter tires (FWD or RWD) or 60 bucks for a set of four winter tires.

Not saying this is you as you have mentioned you stay off the roads these days when conditions are less than ideal, but this is danger speak right here and a mindset the average AWD vehicle owner maintains. It's not the going, it's the stopping and your AWD SUV will not help you there. Tires will.
Slap them fancy Michelins on and enjoy superior stopping ability in lower temps.

I had no idea ppl put on just two, but I guess two in the font is better than none.
