No thank you |
With ITRs becoming unattainable are EM1 SiR and GSR prices creeping upwards? |
the EM1 are already becoming quite scarce and will be like the CRX in 10 years but won't be BATbait where people are expecting 30k+ for clean examples...you have to remember they're 'just' Si for the USDM so frankly even the rarest of Civics in history haven't hit ridiculous prices GS-R being the 2nd rung in trim level I think most people except the die-hards have simply forgotten about them I think Del Sol has joined the Insight and Beat as those quirky cars that'll never really become golden if anything I can see the Preludes making a comeback in value |
Agreed the EM1 are hard to find unmolested nowadays. And it was the top trim civic you could buy in north America during the "golden era" so I see it at least holding it's value |
I have posted this before but a friend has an electron blue 99 SiR 177kms for sale. Now $5500. Has some light mods and on missing vin on the door. https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/6687478960.html Decent little 89 CRX Si as well. Has quarter rust. https://www.usedvictoria.com/classif..._32257849.lite I have had em1 SiR, pair of del sol, and a CRX. Prices for em1 SiR haven't gone in Canada up like I expected. Del Sol dont have a big following either. The 97 I had with B16A was a lot of fun. It is actually up for sale again for $4400. If it goes cheaper I might buy it back. It drives like a go cart. Unfortunately they all leak water in (targa and trunk). Low mile Preludes (last gen) have gone for big money on BAT but I dont see that happening in Canada. Again unmodified low mileage GSR are available but most sellers have a hard time moving them along. There just aren't buyers in Canada it appears. Finding a clean unmolested CRX is really difficult. |

i'd much rather have the Megane |
long shot here, does anyone know if the JDM 98+ Integra have side impact beams/pads? I know their rebar is a freaking twig compared to the USDM found a press release from 1996 1997 Acura Integra Type R - Structure - Honda.com |
Anyone redone their DC2 seat ? Like new cushion and springs ? It isn't worth it ? |
Need my wheels refinished in Gunmetal grey asap. Any recommendations? http://i64.tinypic.com/rwm3qs.jpg |
i recently went to renewz wheel refinishing in north van in lonsdale and they did a pretty decent job on a gunmetal wheel i curb rashed... |

I had good luck having my ITR wheels refinished at Panther. Nubrite was good as well. I think the grey center caps are discontinued |

I don't have any wheels for sale at the moment unfortunately. |
assuming you can bloody find one |
If someone is looking to get a new Civic Type R, what would be the best approach to get one? I'm guessing probably hard to find now since it seems everyone has a 1-2 year waitlist? |
Check Craigslist lots for sale |

The wait-list has mostly winded down. A few dealers have them in stock, and i do not think you can haggle the price on it too much.. for they are still kinda rare and the dealer will eventually sell it. They also attract customers in. |

In the GTA there are no fewer than 5 dealerships within 30 mins away that have one in stock, ready to go. Waitlists here are pretty much nonexistent. When I bought my R I just walked in, cash in hand. Paid MSRP, no accessories. Just freight and PDI on top of the base price of $41k. I imagine things are similar in BC, especially for dealerships that are further inland.... |

A co-worker of mine just got his Type R last month, after being on the wait list for the dealership he put a deposit down on since January (Maple Ridge). I put my deposit down for a 2019 at the beginning of August at Surrey Honda, and I'm the first on the list. After I put my deposit down, the next week they called me offering a White or Red 2018 that were showing up in the next week/2 weeks. I had to resist and am holding out. So at least for me, they seem to be relatively easy to come by. Just need to shop around a bit. The problem with the ones that are currently for sale at the dealership, have the dealer accessories loaded on driving the price up by thousands. Technically the base car is MSRP, but you're paying a whole bunch more for the illumination package/fake carbon fibre trim etc. |

A few weekends ago, I fixed up and painted a set of wheels. Found a set of Enkei's on craigslist for $200 that were thrashed. A few hours of sanding, primer, paint. Done. Maybe $250 total spent including the wheels, and now I have pretty decent set of winters for my CTR :-) Here's my flickr album with pics: https://flic.kr/s/aHskEiUnZT |
